Page 2 of 2 SMGQ REPRESENTS TELEMIAMI SHAREHOLDERS IN TRANSACTION THAT BRINGS CNN LATINO TO SOUTH FLORIDA The Seven Figure Transaction Is Part of A Turner Broadcasting System Effort to Create a National Spanish-Language Network CORAL GABLES, Florida – June 25, 2013 – The law firm of Sanchez-Medina, Gonzalez, Quesada, Lage, Crespo, Gomez, Machado & Preira LLP (“SMGQ”) represented its clients, the majority shareholders of Telemiami, in a transaction with MIA TV LLC (“MIA TV”), an affiliate of CNN Latino. The seven figure transaction granted MIA TV the right to broadcast CNN Latino on Comcast Channel 18, which is viewed largely in the Miami-Dade County, Florida area and in portions of Broward County, Florida. Joseph R. Gomez, the SMGQ partner who served as lead counsel in the transaction, noted that, “the Telemiami deal was instrumental in allowing CNN Latino to garner a much larger audience for its new Spanish language programming in South Florida.” In addition to Comcast Channel 18, MIA TV also secured rights from Telemiami to broadcast on two additional local channels, Atlantic Broadband’s Channel 82 and AT&T’s Channel 20. MIA TV will produce local content programming in addition to the CNN Latino programming, which is scheduled to air from 3 pm to 11 pm. Judy Prado, who is part of MIA TV’s new management team, stated that “the transaction helped to bring hundreds of thousands of basic cable subscribers into the fold for CNN Latino’s new programming in the Miami-Dade County area.” To produce the local programming content, MIA TV will maintain production studios in Hialeah, Florida and continue to lease Telemiami’s production facilities located at 2920 NW 7th Street, Miami, Florida.
