Employment status
Thirty eight percent are employed in the public sector, of which the majority are women (55.9%); 62.1% are employed in the private sector, of which the majority are men (75.4%).
The employment rate level for 2010 was 11,400 (68.7%). The Outer Hebrides had the highest percentage change over the last 2 years, - 8.7% (-1,600).
