Simultaneous Voice and Data (SVD)
The commands below are for Modem Blaster models DI5600 (K56flex only), DI5601, DE5620 (-2), DI5602, and DI5656.
SVD is a technology that allows simultaneous voice and data operation using a modem connected to at telephone line with another SVD capable modem on the other end of the connection. Please keep in mind that SVD cannot be accomplished over the Internet in any fashion. Voice and data channels are combined in the analog domain. Establishing an SVD connection is analogous to establishing a regular data modem connection. Initiate the call using normal dialing (ATD) and answering (ATA) procedures. The modem can switch from a regular phone conversation into SVD mode and back to a regular phone conversation. A handset is the primary equipment used for voice communication during SVD mode. The Data Terminal Equipment (DTE) rate must be equal to or greater than the anticipated modem connection speed, in general a DTE speed of 38,400 bps or higher should be used.
Syntax : -SMS= [value]
Defined Values : 0, disable SVD (default)

2, enable SVD

Example : Establishing an SVD data connection between two SVD capable modems and using a handset as the audio interface, both DTE’s are set to 57,600 bps.
