As the end of the 2012 – 2013 draws to a close we have a number of dates to pass along to you.
Acadian Village The entire student population will be visiting the Acadian village on Friday, June 14th. Admission for this visit is paid by revenue from our spring production of Annie. Students will leave the school at 9:00 am and return at 2:15pm. Students must have a paper bag lunch. Microwaves will not be available at the Acadian Village. Students do not need any money with them for the trip. Turnaround Awards Dion Ward, a grade 7 student, is the recipient of the Turnaround Achievement Award for Anglophone North-Miramichi District. He will receive his award on Monday, May 27th at the Rodd Miramichi. Please join us in congratulating Dion on his award. Graduation The graduation ceremony will be held at the Tabusintac Legion on Thursday, June 13th at 6:00 pm. Grade 8 students will be served a turkey dinner compliments of the Tabusintac Home and School. Parents and friends of our Grade 8 students may attend. An individual invitation will be sent home with Grade 8 students. Bottle Drive Mrs. Karen Schaefer is organizing a field trip to Camp Sheldrake. Students in our senior class are having a bottle drive on Saturday May 25th beginning at 9:30 am. Pick-ups can only be made in the Tabusintac area, but you may contact Mrs. Schaefer for the drop off site at 779-1888. Volunteer Luncheon
The students and staff with financial assistance from the Tabusintac home and School are thanking our numerous volunteers. A thank you luncheon will be held on Tuesday June 11th at 12:30 pm. Individual invitations will be delivered to our volunteers.
Go Girls Festival Our middle school girls will be participating in the Go Girls on Wednesday, May 29th. This annual festival is co-sponsored by our school district and the city of Miramichi. Our girls will receive snacks, lunch and a T-shirt from the organizing groups. Girls must come dressed in active wear and if necessary be prepared with raingear for outdoor activities.
Tabusintac Rural School Fun Day During the last week of school, students will participate in outdoor activities in Tabusintac. Activities may include softball, visit to lighthouse and marina and a picnic. More details will go home in the days before the fun day. Provincial Assessments Students in Grade 2, 5 and 8 will be writing provincial assessments in Literacy or Numeracy. Other grades may be writing district or grade assessments at the same time. Assessments will be written during the weeks of May 27 – 31 and June 3 – 7. Please make every effort to see your child(ren) have a nutritious breakfast and sufficient sleep in the days prior to testing.
Penny Drive We are still collecting pennies, if you have some you would like to donate to the school, please send them in with your children. Breakfast On the last day of school, June 21st, the staff will be preparing a breakfast of pancakes for the students.
