New Brunswick (NB)



  • Postal short form is NB

  • Capital is Fredericton – university centre

Prince Edward Island (PEI)

  • An island, the smallest province in Canada

  • Capital is Charlottetown

        From NS         - by ferry – Wood Islands

        By air             - Charlottetown (local flights only)

        North & West – Gulf of St. Lawrence

        East & South – Northumberland Strait

 

Average temperatures are:

        January   (-3 to -11 C)

        July        (14 to 23 C)

Temperatures are very similar to NS in the summer and fall but much colder in the spring & winter due to prevailing winds blowing over water & ice.

Newfoundland and Labrador (NL)

        North, East, South – Atlantic Ocean (Labrador Sea)

        West – Gulf of St. Lawrence

        Newfoundland

        Labrador



o       January   (-18 to -23 C)

o       July        (5 to 17 C)

 

Note:  The terrain (landforms) in Newfoundland and Labrador prevent settlement in most places.  The area is mountainous and wild.
