The Marine Affairs Program by Dalhousie University (MMM) is a one-year, professional, non-thesis and interdisciplinary program offering required (core) classes in the marine, social, management and political sciences as well as a choice of more tan 65 elective courses offered by the major graduate faculties and profesional schools. The MMM program is also available on a part-time basis.

Applicants to the MMM must satisfy general requirements for admission to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.  These include a Bachelor's Degree from a university of recognized standing with honours or its equivalent with a minimum average of B (3.0 GPA, 72% or Second Class Honours, Upper Division). In some cases, additional university education may be required. Selection criteria include an essay demonstrating interdisciplinarity, relevant work experience, and career objectives.  Dalhousie University encourages applications from qualified women, aboriginal peoples, visible minorities and persons with disabilities.

For the academic year that begins in September 2009, applicants should note that the DEADLINE for receipt of applications is JANUARY 31, 2009 for those wishing to be considered for Faculty of Graduate Studies scholarship funding. All other applications are due by FEBRUARY 28, 2009

The Marine Affairs Program Admissions committee reviews each complete application individually and makes recommendation to the Faculty of Graduate Studies those applicants that meet the minimum requirements of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and the requirements of the Marine Affairs Program Admissions Committee. It is a competitive application process. Applicants are notified in April and May the result of the application review process.

All application documents must be submitted in English. The applicant must arrange for any documents that are not in English to be officially translated. This includes transcripts.
