TSF Application

Name: ____________________________________________________Phone: ______________________ ___

Grade: ____________ Email: _______________________________________________________________
TSF is a commitment to being a leader and making a difference through the programs at the library. Are you prepared to commit to attending meetings and other events as a representative of the library? ____________
Please answer the following questions, feel free to use a separate page if you need more room:
TSF is a leadership initiative. What does it mean to be a leader? How do you exemplify those qualities

(if you have had leadership experience please list it here)?

What do you feel are your best qualities? How do these qualities impact your leadership style?

Please list any former volunteer experience (preference is given towards library work, but lack of such doesn’t exclude you from consideration):

Please list any other extracurricular activities and when you participated in them:

Explain why you want to be a member of TSF:

Why and how often do you visit the library?

Do you have a vision of how to improve the library for teens? Any ideas for programs or promotions aimed at teens?

Please look over the following scenarios and answer the related questions:\
1.  You are attending a YAC meeting and, as a TSF member, you are in charge of the group gathering ideas for a program.  However, none of the YAC members seem to be getting anything done and, instead, go off on tangents talking about things irrelevant to the task at hand.  Thoroughly explain how you would act under such circumstances.

2.  There is a new teen program coming up in the library and, although you are really excited about it, you realize none of your peers knows of the program, and those who do feel library programs are lame.  In this situation, how would you attempt to publicize the program and get a decent amount of attendance in order to avoid its cancellation?

TSF requires you to have performed 30 hours of volunteer service in the library. Do you have this requirement?

If you don't have 30 hours of service and still feel you should be considered for membership, please state why:

This application must be turned in to Saleena Davidson at the South Brunswick Public Library in order to be considered.
