December 13, 1959: A newspaper article says that the Akron Boxing and Wrestling Commission turned down Jack Stanley’s application for a new wrestling promotion. He wanted to promote at the Rollercade, using Al Haft's stable and Buddy Rogers. Stanley’s application had also been rejected in September because the commission felt the city could not support two weekly cards.
