Francis Edward Anglim was born at home, 4324 South 19th Street, with no doctor. He was baptized at St. Bridget's Church, November 16, 1913. He made his first Holy Communion and Confirmation the same day at St. Rose Parish, Catholic Church, on 13th and H. in Omaha, NE. He went to Garfield grade school and completed the eight grade on June 1929. He went to South High School and graduated in June 1933. While attending South High School, he played basketball and threw the winning basket in the last few seconds of a game. He went to the Civilian Conservation Corps at Fort Crook, Omaha NE, for 16 months. He then served 11 months at the Scotssbluff CCC Camp. Francis met Gladys Stein in early 1937, they dated for three years, and married on June 11, 1939. Francis was a shipping clerk for RR Express in January 1940. He was 26 years old at the time. Francis retired from the Missouri Pacific RR as a switchman in May 1976. They lived at 3906 South 23rd Street, in Omaha, NE. They moved to 13456 Wright in Omaha, after June 20, 1978.

The gravesite has Knights of Pythias marker. New Jersey Background Irish immigration began in New Jersey in the 17th century. They have made a significant impact on the state’s history and development ever since, especially since the 1840s when large numbers of irish immigrants came to the state. Cities such as Paterson, Jersey City, Newark, and Trenton became known as “little Irelands” because of the high number of Irish living there. Irish men found low-paying work as laborers and in construction. Well over half of the irish were among the working poor. Having recently immigrated and generally lacking industrial skills, most of the Irish lived a bare existence, with few comforts and no safety net for times of adversity. The New Jersey Irish faced considerable discrimination and hostility during much of the 19th century due to their religion and ethnicity. Their Catholicism was both a cause of their alienation from the mainstream Protestant American society, and it also served as an instrument of cultural self-affirmation. The Irish also gained identity and influence in politics. The Irish-Catholic vote helped elect General George McClellan in 1864. Jane worked as a nurse at a hospital.855 Allegany County Elizabeth Anglim was born in Allegany County. She married Solomon James Bradley. Bradley’s parents are Collins H. Bradley and Caroline Van Valkenburgh. These Bradleys are descendants of Major General Gideon Brownson, who fought for the Americans in the American Revolution. Broome County Binghamton Anglims In 1870, Patrick Anglim (born 1843 ca. in Ireland) lived ca. (both born in New York, with their father born in Ireland, and their mother born in New York), lived with their uncle and aunt, Thomas and Katherine Shea in 1920 at 186 Boston Road, in the Bronx.859 From ca. 1917-1920, Matthew E. Anglim, worked as a clerk with the National Park Bank.860 At Central National Bank, he served as an assistant cashier and assistant vice president. He then worked at the National Park Bank of New York and the Guardian Trust Company of Newark, NJ. He became manager of the Park Avenue Branch of of the Bank of Manhattan Company, and eventually, the Madison Avenue office of the Continental Bank. From 1920-1922, he lived at 1856 Boston Road, in New York City.861 In 1947, Matthew E. Anglim, his wife , Bertha M. Anglim, and daughter, Constance Mary Anglim, lived at 22 Mildred Parkway, in New Rochelle.
