Low interest of Employer to Safeguards and Conflict of Interest – This occurred when the Employer overly emphasized on construction goals based on time and budget and sidelining the importance of and safeguards. When faced with this situation, I arranged for a direct discussion with the Employer’s designated staff for Environmental Safeguards for a leveling-off of expectation and to determine if the staff was sufficiently prepared for Safeguard Requirements. Aside from providing some details on tasks, I offered a sort of partnering on how to accomplish common goals in Environmental Safeguards and agreed to some sort of work plan and delegation of responsibility. In this situation, I took the role of providing guidance to the PIU/PMO.
