Knowledge of MDB’s Safeguards Requirements – ADB PPTAs/TRTAs and project implementations enabled me to gain in-depth knowledge of SPS (2009) in the preparation of IEEs/EIAs and EMP application during the construction stage. In WB projects, I have experienced drafting ES Documents under the New ESF policy (2018) incorporating Environmental and Social Standards (ESS) 1-10. In EBRD projects, the requirements were the Performance Requirements (PRs) 1-10 which I applied in updating ES documents for Tendering. In EIB project, like the Ankara-Istanbul High Speed Train Project, in which I had been engaged as environmental specialist for 7 years, I conducted periodic environmental monitoring and audit of construction of tunnels, viaducts and rails on embankments using EIB ES Standards. Hence, I consider my actual work experience and facility in these MDBs’ ES framework as an important key technical skill, which can be utilized in future enhancements and mainstreaming of SPS.
