COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY, New York City, NY Head Coach - Brett Boretti Located in New York City, Columbia offers a unique blend of high quality academics with a high level Division I baseball experience. In the past three years (2013-15) we have won the Ivy League three times, earned a #3 seed at an NCAA Regional twice, and played for a Regional Championship in the 2015 Coral Gables Regional. We finished the 2015 season ranked #35 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and received Top 25 votes in the National Collegiate Writers Association poll. Our RPI finished up 53rd best in the country (out of over 300 Division 1 programs).
In each of the past three seasons we have set new school records for wins, getting up to 34 in 2015, while playing the most consistently challenging out of league schedule in the Ivy League. We have had a number of players named All-Ivy, including the Co-Player of the Year (Gus Craig, 2015) and two Ivy League Rookies of the year (Will Savage, 2014 and Randell Kanemaru, 2015). Our program has consistently recruited and developed some of the top talent in our league and in our region. In addition to developing players while they are here, we also get them ready for baseball at the next level. We have had 10 players drafted or signed in the last 4 years (including four players from the 2015 team). From an academic standpoint, Columbia provides our student-athletes with a high-powered education they are able to use whenever their baseball career is over. With an Under-Graduate enrollment of just under 8,600 students and a wide variety of majors to choose from, our players’ majors range from Political Science to Pre-Med to Engineering. Our guys achieve on the field and in the classroom, keeping a team GPA over 3.1 in each of the last 3 years. CORNELL UNIVERSITY, Ithaca, NY HEAD COACH - Dan Pepicelli Founded in 1865, Cornell University is the largest Ivy League institution with about 14,000 undergraduate students spread across seven different colleges. Located in scenic Ithaca, New York, the campus covers about 2,300 acres overlooking downtown and Cayuga Lake. Notable rankings place Cornell eighth domestically and 10th internationally in the 2015 Center for World University Rankings and 15th in the U.S. News & World Report National University ranking.
DARTMOUTH COLLEGE, Hanover, NH Head Coach - Bob Whalen Founded in 1769, Dartmouth is the ninth oldest college in the country and is a member of The Ivy League. Dartmouth is located in Hanover, New Hampshire and nestled in the "Upper Valley" of the Connecticut River, between the White Mountains of NH and the Green Mountains of Vermont. With a student body of approximately 4,300 students, Dartmouth has a long-standing commitment to a liberal arts education. Dartmouth's unique blend of small classes, top flight facilities, and an outstanding faculty, has made it the premiere undergraduate experience in the country. In the previous four years, Dartmouth has been ranked #1 in Academic Progress Rate and Graduation Rate, and is the only school to ever achieve that status in the same year. The Big Green baseball program participates at the Division I level and plays a nationally competitive schedule. Dartmouth opened its season in 2015 against Texas A&M, and will face 6 teams this year who qualified for a regional in the previous season. In 2016, the Big Green will look to win its ninth consecutive division title and its twelfth in the last seventeen years, to go along with a third Ivy Championship since 2009. Dartmouth currently has 8 former players in professional baseball, ranging from the MLB level to the professional league in Australia. At the MLB level, RHP Kyle Hendricks was a mainstay in the rotation for the Chicago Cubs, and both Ed Lucas and Joe Sclafani spent entire seasons playing infield at the AAA level. The Big Green also boast two General Managers in Major League Baseball (Sandy Alderson of the Mets and Matt Klentak of the Phillies) and one manager (Brad Ausmus with the Tigers). FORDHAM UNIVERSITY, West Harrison, NY Head Coach - Kevin Leighton Founded in 1841, Fordham is the Jesuit University of New York, offering exceptional education distinguished by the Jesuit tradition across nine schools. Fordham awards baccalaureate, graduate, and professional degrees to approximately 15,000 students from Fordham College at Rose Hill, Fordham College at Lincoln Center, the Gabelli School of Business (undergraduate and graduate), the School of Professional and Continuing Studies, the Graduate Schools of Arts and Sciences, Education, Religion and Religious Education, and Social Service, and the School of Law. The University has residential campuses in the Bronx and Manhattan, a campus in West Harrison, N.Y., the Louis Calder Center Biological Field Station in Armonk, N.Y., and the London Centre in the United Kingdom. A member of the Atlantic 10 Conference, the Fordham baseball team stands as the winningest program in NCAA history with over 4,000 wins. The program dates back to 1859 and begins its 157th season of varsity play in 2016 and has plenty of successful alumni in the world of baseball from Hall of Famer Frankie Frisch to legendary announcer Vin Scully to current Texas Rangers pitcher Nick Martinez. FRANKLIN AND MARSHALL COLLEGE, Lancaster, PA Head Coach - Ryan Horning Franklin and Marshall College is located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, just about 1.5 hours away from Philadelphia and Baltimore, MD. F&M is a small liberal arts school of 2,400 students and a 9-to-1 student-to-teacher ratio. We are ranked as one of the best liberal arts colleges in that nation by Forbes and US World and News Report. We offer a wide variety of majors in the sciences, humanities, and social sciences. One of our most popular majors is Business. The business program at F&M is selective in that students must be admitted to the program after applying during their sophomore year. F&M is unique is that it is one of the only small liberal arts colleges with a separate business program like this. At F&M, we compete at the Division III level in the Centennial Conference. We finished 2015 with a 28-13 record and have won six conference championships. Six players were named All-Conference, three players earned All-Region, and our head coach, Ryan Horning, was named Centennial Conference Coach of the Year. Our team also left its mark throughout F&M’s single-season record book, placing 2nd in stolen bases (17th nationally), 3rd in fielding percentage, 9th in home runs and 10th in earned run average. FRESNO STATE UNIVERSITY, Fresno, CA Head Coach - Mike Batesole California State University, Fresno (commonly referred to as Fresno State) is Central California’s leading university with outstanding programs in business, agriculture and education. Fresno State offers 57 bachelor degree programs and 40 master degree programs. Under a dense canopy of 4,000 trees, the campus sits at the northeast edge of Fresno, against a backdrop of the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains. Located in the heart of California’s Central Valley, the park-like setting creates a beautiful environment for pursuing a quality education and striving for athletic excellence. Fresno State Baseball is on the most successful run in program history. We have won 7 Conference Championships in the last 9 seasons! Fresno State Baseball boasts 33 conference championships, 34 NCAA Regional appearances, four trips to the College World Series, and THE 2008 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP! Fresno State Baseball has produced 82 All-American players in its history including 3 in the 2011 season alone! We have also successfully prepared our players for professional baseball. We have had 30 players drafted from 2011-15. The 2015 draft recently saw Junior Catcher Taylor Ward go 26th overall in the 1st Round! Every one of these players was drafted in a higher round than they previously were selected out of high school. Academically, we are on a roll as well. We just completed our 4th consecutive year with a TEAM GPA of above 3.00! More impressive our team GPA for the 2014-15 year was a 3.2! ALL of our seniors are graduating early, on-time, or within 1 semester of completing their playing eligibility. GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY, Washington DC Head Coach - Pete Wilk Georgetown University is located in northwest Washington, D.C., along the bank of the Potomac River. Established in 1789, Georgetown is the nation’s oldest Catholic and Jesuit University and is one of the world’s leading academic and research institutions. Georgetown is home to approximately 6,400 undergraduate and 8,200 graduate and professional students from all 50 states and more than 130 foreign countries. With about 12 applications for every opening in the first-year class, Georgetown is one of the selective universities in the country. The Georgetown athletics department is home to more than 750 student-athletes competing on 29 varsity sports. Notable alumni to graduate from Georgetown University include Bill Clinton, Bradley Cooper, Maria Shriver, Patrick Ewing, Dikembe Mutombo and Alonzo Mourning.
The Georgetown baseball team competes in the BIG EAST Conference while playing some of the top regional competition during non-conference play. The Hoyas are coming off of a successful 2015 season that saw them qualify for the BIG EAST Championships for the first time since 1986. Georgetown finished the season with 25 wins, which included a 1-0 victory over the then-No.12 University of Virginia which went on to win the College World Series. A program-record three Hoyas were selected in the 2015 MLB Draft, highlighted by junior catcher Nick Collins who was selected in the eighth round by the Oakland Athletics, becoming the third-highest draft pick in Georgetown history. In all, Georgetown has had a total of 19 players selected in the MLB Draft, 10 of which have come since 2007. GRINNELL COLLEGE, Grinnell, IA Head Coach - Tim Hollibaugh Grinnell College is a top 25 liberal arts school located in the picturesque small mid-western town of Grinnell, Iowa. With 1,600 total students (all undergraduates) representing all 50 states and over 50 countries, diversity of thought and experience are at the forefront of Grinnell’s mission and culture. With a head coach, Tim Hollibaugh, entering his 23rd season at Grinnell and 18 All-Region performers in the last 8 years, Grinnell College Pioneer baseball is well established as one of the consistent forces in the Central region of Division III. HARVARD UNIVERSITY, Cambridge, MA Head Coach - Bill Decker Established in 1636, Harvard is the oldest institution of higher education in the United States. HENDRIX COLLEGE, Little Rock, AR Head Coach - Neil Groat Hendrix College is considered one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country. Located in a suburban setting thirty miles from Little Rock, Arkansas and in the foothills of the Ozarks mountains, Hendrix has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report as the nation’s top “Up-and-Coming” liberal arts college for a three of the past four years. The academic program at Hendrix features a quality curriculum, offering 34 majors and 39 minors and our alumni include a CEO of a Fortune 500 company, an Academic Award winning actress, a Pulitzer Prize winner, a former US Ambassador and even an owner of a professional sports team. The Hendrix baseball team plays in the highly competitive Southern Athletic Association. In the last seven years, we have won a conference title and played in an NCAA Regional while having over 40 players named All-Conference. During those same years, three players have been named All-West Region, three Regional Gold Glove Winners, one National Gold Glove Winner, one All-American, and one player drafted in the Major League Draft. Additionally, in those years we have built nearly $50 million in new athletic facilities. HOLY CROSS, Worcester, MA Head Coach - Greg Dicenzo The College of the Holy Cross or Holy Cross is a private, undergraduate liberal arts college located in Worcester, Massachusetts and is renowned for offering a rigorous, personalized education. Established in 1843 it is the oldest Jesuit college in New England. The school offers 38 majors and minors, although students can also design their own majors. Some of the most popular majors include Economics, English Language and Literature, Political Science and Government Typical student body is around 3,000 total with a faculty/staff ratio of 10:1 and most class sizes in the 10-19 range. The school has a 93% Graduation Rate, one of the highest in the country and the highest in the Patriot League. While the baseball program boasts a 100% graduation Rate and a perfect score of 1,000 on the NCAA Academic Progress Rate. The College of the Holy Cross is a Division I Program that competes in the Patriot League. With the Patriot League being an NCAA qualifying league, the winner of our tournament receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals. Here at Holy Cross we continually strive to create one of the toughest schedules in the Northeast with recent non-league competition including LSU, Cal Poly, San Diego, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Nevada, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Michigan, etc., while also playing the best competition in our region with games vs Boston College, St Johns, UConn and many of the Ivy League schools as well. We annually locate all of our players in the best collegiate baseball leagues throughout the country...from the Cape (11 players over the last 6 season spending time in the CCBL) to the California Collegiate League, NECBL, Alaska, Northwoods, NYCBL, Perfect Game, Futures League, etc. We have also been fortunate over the last 5 years to have had 4 players drafted and 6 play at the professional level. HUDSON VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE, Troy, NY Head Coach - Alex Jurczynski Hudson Valley Community College is located in Troy New York, it is one of the highest academic junior colleges in the northeast. Collectively, the college maintains a campus of approximately 120 acres, and more than 1,000,000 square feet of building space among its 16 campus buildings. HVCC is the fifth largest of the 30 community colleges in the State University of New York (SUNY) system. With an enrollment of 13,500, it is the second largest college in New York State's Capital Region, which includes Albany, Rensselaer, Schenectady, and Saratoga counties. HVCC's baseball program is a division III JUCO in the Mountain Valley Conference. Our baseball program is fortunate to play at Joe Bruno Stadium, which is located on campus and is also used by the Tri City Valley Cats Single A affiliate of the Houston Astros. The facility has an indoor extended tunnel along with a newly renovated locker room. Along with the stadium the school offers a field house, ice hockey rink and in the fall of 2016 a turf football stadium. UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS, Lawrence, KS Head Coach - Ritch Price The University of Kansas is a major public research and teaching institution with lofty goals and a global outlook. The historic buildings and tree-covered campus, along with top-ranked academic programs and growing research endeavors, provide an environment that inspires and challenges students and faculty. LAFAYETTE COLLEGE, Easton, PA Head Coach - Joe Kinney Lafayette College is located in Easton, PA. Our undergraduate enrollment population is 2400. A residential campus that is referred to as one of the most beautiful in the nation. We are approximately an hour’s drive from the Philadelphia and New York metropolitan areas. Academically, Lafayette offers a diverse curriculum focusing on the undergraduate liberal arts, engineering, sciences, and mathematics. We take yearly trips to Arizona for Spring Break and travel to other places such as, Los Angeles, Northern California, and San Antonio. MENLO COLLEGE, Menlo Park, CA Head Coach - JAKE McKinley Menlo College is a private institution that was founded in 1927. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 772, its setting is suburban, and the campus size is 40 acres. It utilizes a semester-based academic calendar. Menlo College's ranking in the 2016 edition of Best Colleges is Regional Colleges (West), 9. Its tuition and fees are $37,520. The baseball program is part of the NAIA and competes in the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC). Athletic scholarships can be awarded to potential student-athletes looking to attend the college. The roster cap is 40, with 35 of the athletes being on the active roster in season. The travel consists primarily of the West Coast, with some travel outside of the region. The team has averaged over 30 wins the past 5 seasons and during those 5 season, 10 players moved on to play professionally, 4 with affiliated organizations.
