Let’s try this one together:
3x + 2y = 0 (Be sure to get the x and y on the same side of the equation.)

y = -6x + 9

Try this one on your own:

3x + y = 15

3x – 2y = 6

Two Special Cases

Case #1 x + y = 5

3x + 3y = 7 Set up the Augmented Matrix

Multiply 3 times Row 1

Row 2 – Row 1 replaces row 2

The second row translates to 0 + 0 = 8 which is a contradiction.
