"A woman has attributes similar to men’s. She is a head of a department, company manager, successful in social and political life, actress, singer, traveler. Her colors are red and black." (Astrology – Stars Talk, pg 32)

Astrologer Linda Goodman describes the characteristics of female Aries as typical of men:

"She can get along without a man easier than any female you'll ever meet... Anything he could do, she can do better-she thinks... The Aries girl will open her own doors. Shell also put on her own coat, fight her own battles, pull out her own chair, hail her taxi and light her cigarette without any masculine help. Doing it herself is, to her, the fastest way to get it done. Naturally, this doesn't set too well on the vulnerable male ego. The Mars girl is determined to take the lead, to be the first to move to action, and that includes the action of making the first advance in romance. Aries females are the most likely of all the Sun signs to do the proposing, especially if the man is slow about naming the date. (She is)... able to take over a man's job when the men aren't around." (Sun Signs, pg 26)

Anthropologist Vladimir Dvorniković also presents a Dinarian woman as the one with distinct male attributes:

"We can also observe in a Dinarian woman a masculine tendency of the racial type itself. A Dinarian woman does not have to be what is popularly described as “manlike” at all, and yet there is something masculine in her, just enough to enter the European textbooks of racial anthropology. An accentuated profile is not a feminine attribute, but this very signature, or in Weininger’s words, a significant “percentage of masculinity” is not at all rare with the Dinarian women... and in a Dinarian woman there is a significant percentage of the masculine element, not only physically (sharp profile, boney figure, acromegaly), but mentally as well." (Vladimir Dvorniković, Characterology of Yugoslavs, pg 209, 345)

Astrologers recognize in Aries the same mental characteristics anthropologists recognize in the Dinarians, and they are mostly a consequence of the vulnerability of their proud psyche. Astrologer Linda Goodman wrote:

"Although Aries is the firebrand, who forges his way through life with daring, initiative and enterprise, there's a strange quirk to his bravery. Hell face the abominable snowman or the Frankenstein monster without the slightest trace of fear, yet he can't stand physical pain. He's never a moral coward, but he can be a huge sissy about anything that hurts. The dentist is not one of his favorite people." (Sun Signs, pg 13)

Anthropologist V. Dvorniković made the same observation about Montenegrin heroes:

“When I visited and questioned some doctors about the impressions they got regarding their patients, I was surprised by the statement of a doctor from Boka Kotorska, who said that he, speaking from a doctor's point of view, would have to think of this people as “utter cowards“ (those were exactly his words) - if he didn't know “from national poems and history“ that they were heroes. For they are all “furious people of Perast“ and “people of Risan, the glorious heroes“. Even when slightly injured, they moan and cry for ambulance, as the aforesaid doctor said to me. And he expected these very people to show great insensitivity and endurance.“ (Vladimir Dvorniković, Characterology of Yugoslavs, pg 334).

The Dinarian type has distinct attributes of the male gender, in this case the tendency to deal with issues of general social justice. However, in practice, these attributes are desecrated by the absence of meekness and humility, which perverts their manly love of justice, so they see injustice on a global social level as a pursued occasion and excuse for the manifestation of their own wrath and hatred. Astrologer Mile Dupor claims that Aries is "proud, vengeful, impulsive" (Do not believe it, Check it, pg 57), while the anthropologist Dvorniković uses the same words to describe a Yugoslav’s "pride" (Characterology of Yugoslavs, pg 737), "the same old Dinarian vengefulness" (Ibid, pg 746), referring to them as "impulsive" (Ibid, pg 769). Pride makes people irresponsible because it takes away a condition for being responsible– an ability of objective self-critical questioning, acknowledgement of weakness and repentance. Such a mentality is a distinct characteristic of the people of the West Balkans.

Astrologer Linda Goodman says the following about Aries: "These people will fight what they feel is an injustice on the spot." (Sun Signs, pg 13) Anthropologist Vladimir Dvorniković says the following about the character of Yugoslavs: "They have a developed sense for social ethics and justice; they are fighters for social justice." (Characterology of Yugoslavs, pg 739)

Anthropologist Hans Günter wrote about the Dinarians:

"Members of this race are characterized by raw strength and openness, particular righteousness, sense of honor and love for their country, courage and strong self-awareness... the Dinarians are characterized by a tendency toward sudden outbursts of anger and combatitiveness." (Hans F.K. Günther, The Racial Elements of European History, pg 58)

Anthropologist Branimir Maleš wrote about the Dinarians:

"The striking appearance of a Dinarian man, his bold face, athletic and at the same time slender figure, have particular corresponding mental characteristics (Wenzmer): genuineness, absence of false politeness, courage, boldness, high level of self-awareness, combativeness and perseverance in the struggle for life, individuality, and at the same time a sense of community (fellowships), tendency to joke around and musical talent." (Branimir Maleš, On Human Races, pg 37)

Speaking about the Dinarians, Jovan Cvijić concluded:

"When they see injustice, ’they burst into flames’, so much so that ’it brings tears to their eyes'. Their sensitivity sometimes forces them to act recklessly. The character of the people belonging to the Dinarian type is often unrestrained, and they have a hard time putting up with even petty injustices." (Jovan Cvijić, The Balkan Peninsula & the Lands of the South Slavs, Basics of Anthropogeography, pg 19-21)

The astrologer Mile Dupor claims that Aries has "intense emotions, and they are easily and suddenly excited...they easily act in the heat of passion" and that they are "driven by passion" (Do not believe it, Check it, pg 56). Anthropologist Vladimir Dvorniković wrote that a Yugoslav is characterized by: "Extreme excitement of passion and affects" (Characterology of Yugoslavs, pg 767). "Impulsive reaction of character and temperament" (Ibid, pg 740). "Short-tempered and prepared for sharp reactions and outbursts of anger" (Ibid, pg 768). Astrologer Linda Goodman writes: "The ram will talk back to a traffic cop or an armed gangster with equal vigor, if either one happens to annoy him. He may regret it later, but caution won't concern him in the heat of the moment." (Sun Signs, pg 13) According to astrologer Mile Dupor "Aries seeks for challenges. They are eager heroes. They rush easily without much thinking" (Do not believe it, Check it, pg 57), and anthropologist Jovan Cvijić writes: "There are multiple cases of Dinarians going for extreme solutions, without regard to interest, benefit and "sensibility", fully aware that their life might be in danger or that it might remain blackened and ruined". Anthropologist Dvorniković described Yugoslav mentality as: "spiteful" (Characterology of Yugoslavs, pg 769). Pride naturally makes people sensitive, easily insulted and prone to conflicts with other people. Astrologer Linda Goodman says that Aries "Any reputation he gets for prejudice comes from his tendency to lump people into two distinct camps - his friends and his enemies." (Sun Signs, pg 17). Anthropologist Vladimir Dvorniković describes the same dichotomy as typical of our people: "Instead of one collective We, there is still an antipolarity of We and You, We and Them. The readiness to fight and oppose, the revolutionary inflammation is a well-known trait of a Balkan highlander" (Characterology of Yugoslavs, pg 711, 739).

Zoran Đinđić described the phenomenon of our people as follows:

“I have learned, and I can assure you, I will never be the one who will play on differences, even though I know that in this country you get the most votes if you say: “They are to blame“. In any direction. My problem is that, when I say to people: “Let’s do something about it“, they ask me: “Against whom? America? Russia? China?“ And then I say: "No, against nobody! We do not have opponents, we have partners!" And then they say to me: "We don't understand that! We would understand if you told us who is against us, so that we could see what is to be done". That is our problem, we easily unite against others, but hardly unite for our own selves“.

Speaking about Aries, the astrologer Mile Dupor listed the attributes which actually correspond to the Dinarian type:

"Emotions: ardent, fierce, patriotic. They are hard to control. Act in the heat of passion easily. They are hard to restrain. Will: induced by affects, regularly beyond reason. They have difficulty tolerating other people’s different opinions. Temperament: choleric, eruptive, exuberant. Society: when in company, they easily utter insults. They do not get along in a team. Virtues: honest, honorable, veracious, patriotic, an enthusiastic idealist, seeks for challenges, proud, courageous, an eager hero. Flaws: uncompromising dictators, underestimate danger, intolerant, lose their calm, impulsive, one-sided, harum-scarum, give no heed to other people’s happiness, act in a "pell-mell" way, proud, vengeful, tactless, sensitive to insults, they do not economize with their power, and even if they do not achieve their goal- they brag. They prefer: honor, applause, approval (otherwise it gets tiring for them), pose, uniforms, marching, weapons..." (Mile Dupor, Don't Believe it, Check it, pg 74)

“They are intolerant, cannot stand interference in their job, and are constantly aggressive. They interfere in other people’s relations. They are easily provoked.“ (Mile Dupor, Astromedicine, pg 100, 29).

The Society of the Astrologers of Yugoslavia wrote the following about Aries:

"They are vital, straightforward and determined. Although intellectual, they rarely trust their restless mind, so their actions are based on intuition rather than deliberation. They are great competitors. They want to be first and the best in everything they do, strive for leadership, authority and superiority, and they will do everything they can to become famous and acknowledged. They are often too self-confident, impulsive, reckless, without consideration of the consequences of their actions. Even in the mature age they cannot free themselves from either stubbornness or self-will and acquire a necessary level of caution. They are usually not capable of restraining themselves, lack tranquility and composure, they are impatient and incapable of taking advice. In their craving for leadership they are often uncontrolled, excessive and tactless, using attacks and aggressiveness instead of common sense and diplomacy, which makes them look silly at the very least. This is particularly apparent in cases when they do not possess true qualities, but want to impose themselves and surpass those who are pre-dispositioned to be leaders. Aries has difficulty accepting defeat. Failure has never been a reason for them to give up what they are up to... They are not capable of performing a job which demands long term devotion and patience, and which does not give room for personal initiative...In their willingness and impatience to achieve their best, they place interests above principles, overstate their strength, act arrogantly and insolently in relation to others, suffocating their ambitions... When they are angry, they rant and rave at anybody in their way, and there is a possibility of physical encounter as well...Aries are constantly tense, which brings them headaches...Children under this sign show no interest in studying, but the desire for money and status makes them not only work hard, but it also makes them to go back to study at a later age and acquire qualifications. They dislike bureaucracy.” (Meet Astrology and Yourselves, pg 15)

Anthropologist Vladimir Dvorniković wrote about the influence of the Dinarian “blood” on the character of Yugoslavs:

“Sloppiness, superficiality and a lack of work consciousness, not to mention a very rudimentary sense of duty, these are all ingredients in the ethos of Yugoslavs' work... Cultural half-effort? A lack of what is called a working culture? Definitely! But perhaps excessively self-aware Dinarian blood... As a rule, in organized, collective intellectual work a Yugoslav shows even less disciplined working spirit.

There are countless examples of this; there are also cases where even a psychological test or an experiment would not show purer traits: unrestrained, primitive bias, arrogant sensitivity, bitterness, distrust, hatred, envy, as well as a lack of discipline, impartiality and fairness... Tense and alert sensitivity, striving to detach themselves by acquiring an atmosphere of respectability becomes an important characteristic of this tribal man. Heroic pride, competition and competitiveness, as well as intense bitterness they employ when in combat, whether with their neighbor or an enemy of the state is a specific hallmark of the tribal fighter. Hence their lack of discipline in midst of combat, for he feels a collective struggle to be the struggle for his own worth. Without the element of heroic pride this combat is unimaginable...

Our intelligent, educated person did not learn to exercise concern of whether their personal acclaim, interest, and even their comfort might collide with the justifiable area of another person’s personal life... I saw such an example in one of our towns. An agile mayor managed to introduce electricity and electric lights. Those who are well-off rushed to introduce electricity into their homes, but one of them, the "most respectable” citizen, maintained his petroleum lamp out of spite, just because the electricity was introduced into the town by – his tough opponent. The examples are countless, and all of them follow the same pattern. Excessive personal sensitivity, pride, primitive and rough expression of envy, sick and selfish egocentricity, these are all basic traits which hinder creation of any kind of social order in that environment as well as any moral and material prosperity... Our arguments, which are at first temperamental, then heated, and finally outright hostile, and which end in all the parties maintaining their point of view even more bitterly and persistently than before, are quite well-known.” (Vladimir Dvorniković, Characterology of Yugoslavs, pg 661-662, 708, 725, 737, 815)

The Englishman Robert Leaton, who published the collection of Serbian folk poems in English in 1861, described the character of our epics in words which actually describe the Dinarian mentality:

"It is sad to observe the demoralization of a nation in its poetry. It praises betrayal of a common enemy as a universal virtue, mistakes deceit for strategy, lies for courtesy, cruelty for honor, and allows a hero's character any other sin but the sin of physical cowardice." (Vladimir Dvorniković, Characterology of Yugoslavs, pg 546)

Even though in their heroism towards a common cause Dinarians show fanatic courage and extreme emotionality, when responding to the concrete life’s needsthey faces directly, they show lazy indifference and emotional numbness. Perhaps both traits were accurately described by anthropologist Vladimir Dvorniković when he said that Georgians, who are mainly of a Dinarian anthropological origin, were “heroic sluggards”.

Anthropologist Jovan Cvijić expressed the following observations about the Balkan Dinarians:

"They are mainly very impulsive people who act immediately, often without a proper deliberation. Majority of the so-called gifted ones have given little results so far. They mainly do not elaborate their jobs (not only in practice but in their minds as well) to determine the ultimate consequences. They rarely do something completely...When they lack experience, their strong sensitivity makes them naive. They often yield to sentimental and indelicate optimism. Their utter sensitivity often becomes their weakness; their generosity makes them unjust.“ (Jovan Cvijić, The Balkan Peninsula & the Lands of the South Slavs, Basics of Anthropogeography, pg 21)

Distinct pride forms a huge Ego in a Dinarian person, which makes them live only for themselves and also disinterested in the real needs of other people, unless the fulfillment of these needs satisfies their own pride. Astrologers say the following about Aries:

"They pay no heed to other people’s happiness." (Mile Dupor, Do not believe it, Check it, pg 74)

Linda Goodman says that "Aries pushes ahead with confidence, caring little for the feelings of others, and his attitude, especially in youth, is "me first," ... Most politicians wait to see what people want before airing their positions. The average Aries has his own ideas of what the people need, never mind what they want, and he'll see that they get it... The ram is conscious only of himself ... His needs come first." (Linda Goodman, Sun Signs, pg 17-18, 13).

Dr Zoran Đinđić described in one of his speeches an example which in a very clear way reveals disinterest of our people in the needs which go beyond the needs of their huge Ego and have wider social significance:

“I came today, this morning...in front of the cable factory in Jagodina, and saw a nice clock, a beautiful clock at the entrance which did not work. I wanted to come back. I said- ok! You have got problems with technology, you have got problems with raw materials, you have got problems with working capital, but what is a problem for this clock to work?! Is that a problem?! That’s exactly my point. Let us do what we can do in our power, and not make excuses like- world conspiracy. Maybe there is a world conspiracy! But let us first see what we are doing in our own backyard, in our own town, in our own country, and when we complete our homework, then let us see whether the teacher hates us or not.”

Anthropologist Vladimir Dvorniković says that an average Yugoslav person is: "Hardly sympathetic" (Characterology of Yugoslavs, pg 767). "They have a weakly developed sense for social life" (Ibid, pg 711), that their "social sense is rudimentary" (Ibid, pg 767), that they are "self-absorbed" (Ibid, pg 768).

"Egocentric spreading and forgetting about the others is significantly reflected in our intelligent, public figures, people of title, position, etc." (Ibid, pg 726)

"Our intelligent, educated person did not learn to exercise concern of whether their personal acclaim, interest, and even their comfort might collide with the justifiable area of another person’s personal life. Sometimes it might be just about the lack of awareness that having regard for others is the essence of any, and not just social, culture, while at other times you might- quite often- in the gestures of our people feel something defiant, or even cynical when ignoring all of the “foolish regards” for other people” (Ibid, pg 725)

Namely, the skeletons of the ancient Egyptians are in most cases of Mediterranean origin, and to a smaller extent of Dinarized Mediterranean origin.

The Dinarian branch HG-J2a is divided into several sub-types (J2a1, J2a2, etc.), where J2a1 is typical of our population, and also represents the most common HG-J variant among Georgians. Branch J2a1 is also divided into several branches (J2a1a, J2a1b, etc.), and J2a1b is the most common variant of the Dinarians among citizens of Belgrade.

Based on the genetic findings, we can determine which populations are most closely related to the Dinarians. Alleles of antigens HLA-B35, B78 and B53 are structurally closest to different alleles of HLA-B gene which express themselves in antigen HLA-B5. HLA-B35 is typical of the Mediterranean population (ancient Pelasgians, Philistines, Etruscans, etc.). HLA-B78 is typical of Senegal (city of Dakar) in Africa (16.1%). B53 is most common in Central Africa and Kazakhstan. Antigen HLA-B53 is also antigen HLA-B, which is most common with American Blacks (23.96%). We can see that the great difference in skin color between different anthropological types (which is adaptive) does not necessarily imply great genetic distance, and hence great difference in temptations of character either. The following accusations racists directed towards Blacks can also apply to White populations which are genetically and psychologically close to Blacks, and which never experienced spiritual enlightenment and character reform:

“The theory of inferiority of the people with dark skin claims that, for instance, Negroes are not capable of overcoming their primary tribal social structure. Therefore, they cannot reach higher forms of state organization, but can at best reach the height of European countries from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries when absolutism governed.“ (Ljubomir Tadić, Political Science, Publishing&Graphic Institute, Belgrade, 1996, 2nd edition).
