This has been hand coloured as was popular during the period & it looks quite spectacular. Signed by the artist & dated 1942 it comes in its original ornate carved wooden frame which has had A glass front added for preservation. This portair would enhance any German militaria collection. A number of photos of RAAF Corporal Bertram Reginald John Woodhill, with salutations to his Mother and Grandmother; a greeting card from Bert Woodhill to his Mother sent from Darwin and two small photos of sunderland flying boats presumably in Darwin Harbour; a National Identity Card (tatty edges) dated April 1942; a hand written letter from a John McGeorge to Woodhill, thanking him for rescuing and forwarding a letter from Sydney Harbour in June 1941. (McGeorge was sailing for the Middle East in that month) McGeorge contacting Woodhill in November 1945 after both had seen service in WW2. Very interesting lot. Grade II- $100
