Dark brown and black wooded pipe stem with black woven flexible section. Dark brown bakelite mouth- piece. (Partial crack/cut through bent section). Length of orange cord and length of green cord with a small tassel. Both attached to the Pipe stem. Silver finish to Pipe Bowl lid section darkened with age, surface rust mainly to lid section. A small moth hole (central lower area) does not overly detract from the immense appeal of this wonderful piece of RAAF memorabilia. A small (11cm) lead submarine created from the wreck comes with a tag of authenticity which appears to have been once attached. Also has a postcard certifying "The bearer of this card operated the controls of the periscope in the Japanese midget submarine..." An interesting and unique piece. Grade II- $100 4396 CANADA Royal Canadian Air Force Drum Major Baton, length 63". Double nickel plated chain wrapped wooden staff, topped by large nickel plated globe and crown. Three early issue nickel plated cap badges are attached to the bottom end of the globe, these are the broad monogram flat style badges. Bottom end of wooden baton is covered by a 10 1/2" long nickel plated end piece. One of the Fleur De Lis is missing from the crown, globe damaged and repaired with screws a few dents remaining, otherwise in Very Good condition.
