Job Descriptions
Workers need to understand their roles in the church. So leaders must clearly communicate the authority and responsibility that is delegated to each person see above--section II-F Delegation.

C.

Personnel Policies
Leaders must develop and communicate personnel policies for any paid workers. Such policy covers such things as hours to be worked each week, holidays, time off each week, vacation, sick leave, absence due to the serious illness or death of member of the employee’s immediate family or household, and absence due to the death of a person outside of the immediate family or household of the employee. In addition, leaders must see that the following items are addressed. How will the missionary/pastor be cared for in the event of sickness or accidents, partial or total disability, or retirement due to age Are there medical insurance and retirement monies available to that missionary/pastor? Are medical services available Are government disability and retirement plans available Does the missionary/pastor have family or friends that would care for him or herb D. Church Discipline. Matthew 18:15-17; 1 Corinthians 6:1-5.

If the mission church has members (those active in the church, then the elders should be prepared to exercise church discipline—in the event that a member fails to properly represent Christ. The Apostle Paul commanded the Corinthian church to expel a wicked man from the church so that he might repent . Paul strove to keep the church pure and also to bring the sinner to repentance and forgiveness. Paul didn’t just want to punish sinners he wanted them to be renewed in faith. See 1 Corinthians 6:1-5. All people are invited to hear the Gospel, but only those who are willing to follow Christ are admitted as members of the church. Scripture teaches how we are to resolve disputes among church members. The problem should be resolved as privately as possible. When someone sins against you, you first go and show the other person his fault. If the sinner fails to listen,

then take one or two other people along and again talk with him. If the sinner still fails to listen, bring the matter before the church. See Matthew 18:15-17.
