Prophecy: Isaiah 53:10-12; 59:20. The Messiah will redeem repentant sinners. To repent means to change one's mind-to turn from sin and follow God.
Fulfilled: Galatians 4:4,5.

Mcdowell shows that through delineating the exact family line of the coming Messiah, and through multiple prophecies, God increasingly pinpointed who the Messiah would be. McDowell , 167, references Peter W. Stoner, Science Speaks (Chicago Moody Press, 1963), to show that the possibility of anyone man fulfilling 48 selected Messianic prophecies is 1 in 10 157
. The latter number is a 1 followed by 157 zeros. In other words, it is almost inconceivable that any man other than Jesus would fulfill all 48 prophecies.

Hosea indicated that the nation of Israel was called out of slavery to go to the promised land of Palestine. As is often the case with prophecy, there is another meaning in Hosea God called his Son out of Egypt to die in Palestine, so that believers can escape slavery to sin and death and live in the promised land–the new Jerusalem described in Revelation 21:2 ff.
