Wrong Sales Location: Staff under a particular local government motors licensing office indulge in selling of motor vehicle plate numbers that does not bear their code thus does not belong to them. This is to the detriment of the purpose for which each local government was assigned a code, which is to identify the local government a vehicle was registered.
Hard retrieval of Information: There is difficulty a time in tracing a record/information concerning a vehicle owner due to improper information keeping as a result of carelessness or volume in the size of record kept.
1.3 AIM OF THE STUDY
The aim of this study is to design and implement a vehicle plate number generation and verification system using QR Code.
1.4 OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY Below are the objectives:
To design a secure system that will provide restriction of illegal access to ensure tight security
To design a relational database using MySQL to store all vehicle plate number information across the nation
To develop a QR Code system that will embed plate number information for easy retrieval
1.5 MOTIVATION Due to the high rate of plate number forgery in Nigeria, I was motivated to embark on this project in order to provide solution to the problem.
1.6 SCOPE OF STUDY This proposed software is only restricted to accredited Vehicle Plate Number issuers in Nigeria. It covers the whole issuers in Nigeria and also managed by the Federal Road Safety Commission. Every issuer will have the software install on their Computer system and also a username and password must be provided for access to be granted.
1.7 LIMITATON OF THE STUDY Owing to the scope of this project, this project work is limited to computer literates. There is need of extensive training for the existing staff managing the current system and this might consume a lot of time and resources. Another major limitation is the limited knowledge of the QR Code Technology which might render the system irrelevance to those with zero understanding on how it works.
