4.8. Configuring E-mail & Slack notification with Jenkins


Configuring E-mail Notification with Jenkins:

Go to Manage Jenkins --> Manage plugins --> 'Available' tab --> Select 'Email Extension Plugin' –> Click on button 'install without restart'

  • Next Enter the SMTP server name under ‘Extended Email Notification’. Click the ‘Advanced’ button and then click the checkbox next to the ‘Use SMTP Authenticationoption

Go to Manage Jenkins --> Configure system --> Enter details in 'email notification'

  • Fill up the details as given below and save

    • SMTP server name: smtp.office365.com

    • Default User E-mail suffix: @yara.com

    • Username: user_email_id@yara.com

    • Password: 123456

    • SMTP Port: 587

    • Charset: UFT-8



Go to Manage Jenkins ---> Configuration ---> Jenkins Location




Add the below Flag in JENKINS_JAVA_OPTIONS
-Dmail.smtp.starttls.enable=true

  • Now Restart Jenkins server to apply this.

Configuring Slack Notification with Jenkins:
Integration Jenkins with slack
First, we need to configure slack on our machine.

  • Create a slack account: https://slack.com/ with name myspace.

  • configure the Jenkins integration: https://myspace.slack.com/services/new/jenkins-ci



  • First, install ‘Jenkins-ci’ and then Add configuration and set channel and all thing like below.

  • Add channel name and note down the token, then scroll down and save
