  • Enhancing vegetable value chains in rice-based and sole crop production systems to improve farm household income and consumer access to safer vegetables in Morogoro, Tanzania” (Phase 1), April 2012-September, 2012. Funded by USAID. Project Manager with AVRDC The World Vegetable Center as lead institution. Responsible for leading and coordinating project activities involving 5 other institutions namely: International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), AfricaRice, Ohio State University, Tropical Pesticide Research Institute (TPRI) and Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Cooperatives, Tanzania.

  • “Extension of Appropriate Post-Harvest Technology in Sub-Saharan Africa: A Postharvest Training and Services Center (PTSC) in Arusha, Tanzania”, March 2012-September 2013. Funded by USAID-Washington with University of California–Davis as Lead Institution. Principal Investigator for AVRDC-The World Vegetable Center. Responsible for managing training and project operations in Arusha, Tanzania.

  • “Improving incomes, nutrition, and health in Bangladesh through potato, sweetpotato, and vegetables. October 2011-September 2012” (Phase 1). Funded by USAID-Bangladesh. Oversight on Vegetable Socioeconomics component-AVRDC. Responsible for leading vegetable variety use baseline and value chain and cost-benefit analysis of new variety introduction studies.
