RESEARCH CRUISE EXPERIENCE

Participated in over 20 research cruises, Chief Scientist on 12. Submersible dives on DSRV Clelia and Delta (south Florida margin). Ships served on include the R/V JOIDES Resolution, R/V Suncoaster and R/V Bellows (Florida Institute of Oceanography), R/V Pelican (Louisiana University Marine Consortium), R/V Sea Diver (Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute), R/V Cape Hatteras (NSF vessel), NOAA Ship Peirce, and assorted smaller vessels. Research methods employed include geophysical investigations (seismic and side scan sonar, chirp sonar, multibeam sonar), coring activites (gravity, piston, vibracoring, box coring), and SCUBA. Areas investigated include North Carolina continental margin, northeast Florida margin, south Florida margin (Boca Raton and the Keys to the Dry Tortugas), West Florida Shelf, Nicaraguan Rise, Great Australian Bight, Mississippi Delta.
