EXPERIMENT: - 5 DATE:-

AIM: - CALIBRATION AND PHASING OF FUEL INJECTION PUMP

OBJECTIVE: - After completion of this experiment student will be able to know.

EQUIPMENT:-

  1. Six cylinder carry calibration phasing of the fuel injection pump

of six cylinder diesel engine on the test bench.

EQUIPMENTS:-

  1. Six cylinder F.I pump.

  2. F.I pump test bench.

  3. Trend tools.

DESCRIPTION:

PROCEDURE:-

  1. Mount the six cylinder F.I pump on the test bench.

  2. Read the identification code marking on the name plate understand

Its meaning.

  1. Read the instruction given for the test bench throughout & follow

accordingly.

  1. while calibration the pump, connect the “supply” connection

of machine to the F.I pump inlet.

  1. Now first switch on the main supply of machine then start the test.

  2. Take the reading of fuel quantity from each element at the prescribed load, travel speed see manufacturers specification.

  3. Compare your element if there is any derivation
