On Wednesday February 1, 2017 at approximately 8:16 am the Egg Harbor Township Police Department responded to the Black Horse Pike at Spruce Avenue, in the Cardiff section of the township, for a motor vehicle crash.

A 2004 Ford Escape operated by Tracy Frisbie, 43 years of age from Little Egg Harbor Township, was traveling west on the Black Horse Pike when the vehicle failed to stop for the red light at Spruce Avenue striking an Infinity G35. The Infinity operated by Christian Jaikaran, 43 years of age from Egg Harbor Township, was travelling north on Spruce, crossing the Black Horse Pike at a green light. The impact forced the Infinity into a utility pole on the northwest corner of the intersection and came to rest partially on top of the Ford.

Jaikaran had to be extricated from his vehicle by the Cardiff and Bargaintown Fire Companies. Both drivers suffered head injuries and were treated at the scene by the Egg Harbor Township Ambulance Squad and AtlantiCare paramedics. Jaikaran was transported to the trauma center at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus with moderate injuries and Frisbie was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Division.
