The use of location services can therefore be very useful for these users. The purpose of theis functionality for this set of commands is to the means to customize and provide menus in a way that suit users needs. Some users prefer spoken menus and others would rather use their preferred font size or font colour. In order to allow external devices to present the menus in the preferred way, the menus need to be defined in a standardized way. A scenario illustrating the use of menus is described in appendix II.
9.10.2 Recommendations
The external device shall be able to present the communication device menus to the user in different modes such as text or spoken menus. The user shall be able to navigate in the menus in different modes.
Recommendation 9.10.2.a: The communication device shall provide an interface with the necessary AT command to allow an external device to present menus in alternative modes such as text or spoken menus.
Recommendation 9.10.2.b: The communication device shall provide an interface with the necessary AT command to allow an external device to display menus according to users’ needs and preferences such as font size and colours.
Recommendation 9.10.2.c: The communication device shall provide an interface with the necessary AT command to allow an external device to navigate either with the external device or on the communication device.
