DONJON MARINE CO., INC. PROVIDES EMERGENCY ASSIST, SERVICE TO DISABLED VESSEL AND CREW

Hillside, NJ – On December 27, 2007, Donjon Marine, Co., Inc., a provider of multi-faceted marine services including marine salvage, heavy lift, dredging and related emergency response services, dispatched its 7,000- horsepower salvage vessel Atlantic Salvor to provide salvage support and towing services to the 330-foot container vessel M/V Agaman. The vessel had a complete engine room failure, allegedly, as a result of contaminated fuel during its transit from Cuba to Canada.

The M/V Agaman lost power on December 26 approximately 88 miles southeast of Nantucket Island, Massachusetts, in 10- to 15-feet seas. With no way to keep warm or heat food, conditions onboard the vessel were quickly deteriorating. With a passing bulk vessel standing by to assist the M/V Agaman in the event of an extreme emergency, the Atlantic Salvor arrived onsite, passed much needed food and supplies to the crew and took the vessel undertow bound for New York Harbor.

The tow of the dead ship went as planned and delivery of the vessel and her crew to a dockside repair facility was completed without further incident.
