Kindergarten News
Hopefully your child got to ride on the Pirate ship float in the Halloween parade. Our room mothers and everyone who participated did a great job! Thank You.
In November, we will finish Unit 3 and Unit 4 in our reading series. Unit 3 is about Transportation and the theme for Unit 4 is Food. We will learn about the letters and sounds for “t, i, n and c” and the sight words see, go, to and have. Math for the month of November will include larger numbers – 11 through 20 and money – coins and their value.
Our holiday book order will be due November 9. It has great books for Christmas gifts. (We will do a book exchange for our classroom Christmas parties.) Our Parent night will be Tuesday, November 29 in the elementary cafeteria. We will do a fun literature activity; decorating a gingerbread house and gingerbread cookie. We hope to see you there.

First Grade News
Our first graders are "falling" in love with reading! They have grown so much in reading first quarter! We will continue to work on short vowels and their sounds. We will also be learning how to summarize and identify the main idea and details in our stories. In math, we will be learning five and ten relationships. We will continue to practice addition and subtraction facts up to 12. It is important that your child practice their addition and subtraction facts at home. These are necessary to build a solid foundation in math. We want the students to memorize their addition and subtraction facts and be able to recall them easily. We finished up our pumpkin unit in science by going to the pumpkin patch.
Our students really enjoyed the field trip and had a fun-filled day! A special thanks to all the parents who came to Parent/Teacher Conferences.
It was great to see all the parents and discuss the students' progress and growth! We hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and that you gobble 'til you wobble!

Second Grade News
It is hard to believe that the first quarter is already over. We enjoyed meeting with all the parents at Parent Teacher Conferences to discuss your
child's progress. Thanks to all the parents who helped make the Halloween Party so enjoyable for the students. As the weather is changing please
send a jacket with your child each day. Please make sure you look through your child's folder and discuss their work with them when it is brought
home. Always sign and return it the next school day. You may also want to check with your child and see if they are in need of any school supplies. Some students are already running low on pencils and paper. We
appreciate all your help and wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!
