Luckett (“Jim Luckett” & “James Luckett”) and Malinda Hassell (“Mattie Hassell”?), died on November 30, 1974 in Martin, Weakley County, Tennessee, and is buried with her husband. James Cavender was better known as J.C. Cavender, moved to Tatum Creek, Tennessee after his marriage and which was also located near Centerville, Tennessee in Hickman County, Tennessee, later bought the Cavender Branch from John Radford Cavender and moved there to start farming. John Radford Cavender and family moved from the main house into another house on the farm so that J.C. Cavender and Lizzie Cavender could move into the main house. On March 20, 1920, J.C. Cavender and Lizzie Cavender sold 341/2 acres in the 4th.. Civil District of Hickman County, Tennessee to M.C. Crow for $975. On May 25, 1929, J.C. Cavender, Mrs. Ida Bradley and husband O.W. Bradley, Mrs. Savanna Litton and husband A..G. Litton (“A. George Litton”), Mrs. Malissia Luckett and husband W.H. Luckett (“William Henson Luckett”), Mrs. Tissie Green and husband T.L. Green (“Thomas L. Green” & “Thomas Green”) and J.A. Cavender (“J.C. Cavender”? & “James Columbus Cavender”?), all children of J.R. Cavender”?, “W.B Cavender”? & “Butler Cavender”?) was born in 1832 in Hickman County, Tennessee, married Martha Ann Charity Dodds ("Martha Dodds" & “Ann Dodds”) on January 1, 1860, lived in both Hickman County, Tennessee and in Hardeman County, Tennessee, moved from Tennessee in 1878 and lived for 2 years in Arkansas, in 1880 moved to Texas and died February 3, 1890 in Paris, Texas. William Cavenah (“William Cavender”) and Charity Cavenah (“Charity Cavender”, “Ann Cavenah”, “Ann Cavender”, Martha Cavenah” & “Martha Cavender”?) had a son named:



George Grover Cavenah ("George Cavenah", "George Cavanah"?, “G.G. Levin Cavender (“Leven Cavender”?) was born about 1779, first married Elizabeth LeCompte on October 10, 1803 in Dorchester County, Maryland, later married Phoebe Appleton (“Phebe Appleton”?), lived in Duck Creek Hundred, Dorchester County, Maryland, died on either September 12, 1824 or on October 15, 1824 in Kent County, Delaware at the age of 45 years, and is buried in the Friendship Church Cemetery in Delaware. The administration of his estate was granted on October 24, 1825 in Kent County, Delaware to his widow, Phoebe Cavender, who later married Henry Walker. His children were named in his will as Thomas Cavender, John Cavender, Mary Ann Cavender ("Mary Cavender", “M..A. Cavender” & “Mary A. Cavender”) and Levin Cavender ("Leven Cavender").269, 286 & 337 Also of possible significance, administration of the estate of Thomas Cavender of Kent County, Delaware was granted to Benjamin Coombs just prior to January 14, 1818, and the inventory of the estate was filed on January 21, 1818. Mentioned as heirs of Thomas Cavender were his widow Barsheba Cavender (“Bathsheba Cavender”, "Barshaba Cavender", “Batsheba Cavender” & "Basheba Cavender"?), and his children Leven Cavender ("Levin Cavender"), William Cavender and Ann Cavender. Barshaba Cavender apparently was appointed legal guardian of her children. On December 12, 1818, she relinquished all rights to the administration of the estate of Thomas Cavender on the condition that Benjamin Coombs was appointed the Administrator. 269 & 338

And further, administration of the estate of Levin Cavender in Kent County, Delaware was granted to Joseph Hoffecker and James Hoffecker on October 15, 1824. Mentioned as heirs were: his wife, Phobe Cavender ("Phebe Cavender" & “Phoebe Cavender”) and his children: Thomas Cavender, John Cavender, Mary Ann Cavender and Levin Cavender ("Lewis Cavender"?). 269 & 341

In any event, Levin Cavender and Phoebe Cavender had 4 children: 269 & 337 Thomas Cavender born about 1815, had 6 unnamed children, died about 1895-1896, and is buried in the Bethel Cemetery in Chesapeake City, Cecil County, Maryland;



John Appleton Cavender (“John Cavender”) born on May 5, 1817, married Frances Reynolds on January 19, 1841, and died on January 11, 1884. John Cavender and Frances Cavender had 2 known and 6 presently unknown children. The fourth born son of John Cavender and Frances Cavender was:

Thomas Cavender who was born on November 12, 1852, married Hope A. Smith (“Hope Smith”), and died on March 26, 1915. A Thomas Cavender is also recorded in the archives in Dover, Kent County, Delaware as having married a Lydia J. who was born in 1821, who died in 1894, and who is buried in the Bethel Cemetery in Chesapeake City, Cecil County, Maryland. Hope Smith was born on October 17, 1876, and died about 1907. Thomas Cavender and Hope Cavender had 12 children:
