Katherine Palmer was born October 1, 1903. Lillard Cavender and Katherine Cavender had 3 children: Lillard Milton Cavender, Jr. ("Lillard Cavender" & “L.M. Cavender”) born June 20, 1908, married Lucy Emma Stamps ("Lucy Stamps") November 21, 1934 in Coweta County, Georgia, died August 29, 1976 in Decatur, Georgia, and is buried with his wife in the Jones Chapel Church Cemetery in Madras, Georgia. Lucy Stamps was born in Coweta County, Georgia December 8, 1914 to William Moreland Stamps ("William Stamps") and Ida Estelle Bowers ("Ida Bowers") of Turin, died October 31, 1975 in Dalton, Coweta County, Georgia. In 1958, they built Lake Coweta near Madras, which featured a beach, water skiing and fishing. In 1968, Lucy Cavender purchased the Mattie Cook store and renamed it Cavender's. After operating it for several years, they retired to Florida. Guy Cavender and Lucy Cavender had 3 children: Mary Lucy Cavender ("Mary Cavender", “M.A. Cavender” & Mary L. Cavender” & “James V. Michael Rice is the son of Walter Rice and Marcia Goldman; and, Bessie Ruth Cavender ("Bessie Cavender", “B.R. Cavender” & "Dollie Cavender") born June 18, 1916 in Cowetta County, Georgia and married Lewis Condor November 26, 1941 in Coweta County, Georgia. Lewis Condor is the son of Arthur Condor; Willie Maude Cavender ("Willie Cavender" & “W.M. Cavender”) born February 9, 1878 in Coweta County, Georgia, married Walter I. Coleman ("Walter Coleman") June 9, 1918 in Coweta County, Georgia. Walter Coleman and Willie Coleman had one child named: Inestella Coleman ("Instelle Coleman"?) who married a Vance; and Ivan Ned Cavender ("Ivan Cavender", “I.N. Cavender” & "Ned Cavender") born January 22, 1883 in Coweta County, Georgia, first married Nellie Kate Wortham ("Nellie Wortham" & "Nell Wortham") December 27, 1905 in Coweta County, Georgia, later married Mrs. Willie Serena McKoy Jenkins ("Willie Jenkins"), and died July 13, 1945 in Coweta County, Georgia. From at least 1910 to 1920, the Ned Cavender family was living on McIntosh Road in the Hurricane District. Ivan Cavender and Nellie Cavender had 5 children: Mary Louise Cavender ("Mary Cavender", “M.L. Cavender” & Mary L. Cavender”) born June 15, 1907, and died either February 6, 1945 or February 5, 1945403 in Coweta County, Georgia; Ellen Cavender born October 5, 1910 in Coweta County, Georgia, and married Count Frederick Max Suchke ("Frederick Suchke" & "Count Suchke") March 20, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia. Frederick Suchke was born February 26, 1895 in Weissenfel, Germany to Max Zschutschke and Martha Sultze, died August 18, 1960 in Atlanta, Georgia, and is buried in the Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia. Frederick Suchke and Ellen Suchke had 2 children: Robert Kennon Suchke ("Robert Suchke") born May 11, 1946 in Atlanta, Georgia, married Marjorie Gail Emerick ("Marjorie Emerick") December 7, 1968 in Wahalla, South Carolina, and was divorced in 1976. Dorothy Wells was born June 19, 1951 in New York to Gordon S. Wells ("Gondon Wells") and a Georgia; and, Victor Randolph Suchke ("Victor Suchke") born March 21, 1949 in Atlanta, Georgia, and married Jill Melanie Mayer ("Jill Mayer") February 21, 1976 in Atlanta, Georgia. Jill Mayer was born November 7, 1945 in Miami, Florida to Joel Mayer and Bonnie Cohon. Victor Suchke and Jill Suchke had one child named: Dara Kimberly Suchke ("Dara Suchke") born February 4, 1981 in Atlanta, Georgia; Albert Cavender born and died in 1914; Alma Cavender born and died in 1914; and, Harry Cavender born December 19, 1919; (ii) BALLY CAVENDER ("Bully Cavender"?) born about 1843; (iii) SEABORN J. CAVENDER ("Seaborn Cavender", “S.J. Cavender” & "Seaburn Cavender") born April 25, 1846 in Coweta County, Georgia, married Julia Elizabeth Carmichael ("Betty Carmichael" & "Julia Carmichael") in Newnan, Coweta County, Georgia on October 15, 1872, died on either March 3, 1929 or on March 6, 1929, and is buried in Oakhill Cemetery in Newnan, Georgia. Julia Carmichael was born May 17, 1848 in Atlanta, Georgia to Richard Hugh Carmichael ("Richard Carmichael") born October 23, 1826 and Sarah Wellborn of Atlanta, was the twin to a brother who died at birth. She died October 14, 1939 in Newnan, Coweta County, Georgia, and is buried with her husband in Oakhill Cemetery. Seaborn Cavender joined Company K of the First Georgia Calvary as a CSA sharpshooter in either June 1862403 or December 28, 1861 at the age of 15, without the knowledge or consent of his father or mother, and was transported to Savannah, Bryan County, Georgia by Green McDonnel and others to join the Company of Capt. Moore of Col. W.T. Wright Regiment and General Walker Brigade. After his father wrote two strong letters to Governor Joseph E. Brown on January 14, 1862 and on February 10, 1862, he was released. He later joined the First Georgia Cavalry with his brother, William Washington Cavender ("William Cavender") in June of 1862. William Cavender served as a scout and spy and, according to the book "Roster of Confederate Soldiers of Georgia" William Cavender was captured at Vicksburg, Mississippi or in Salsbury, North Carolina403 on July 4, 1863 and was exchanged August 4, 1863. Seaborn Cavender was alleged to have killed more Yankees than anyone in his Company. In 1870, he was living with his brother, Obediah Cavender ("Obadiah Cavender"?) in Coweta County, in 1880 he was living on Savannah Street in Newnan, Georgia, in the 1900 he was living in Newnan, Georgia and by that time had 6 children, 5 of which were then still living, and in 1910 was living at 15 Cavender Street in Newnan, Georgia. On November 6, 1911 he bought land in Murray County, Georgia from J.J. Seay; on November 21, 1912 he bought more land in Murray County, Georgia; and, on March 9, 1922 he sold some land in Murray County, Georgia to Ona C. Tolar ("Ona Tolar"). He apparently was a cattle dealer. Seaborn Cavender and Julia Cavender had 6 children: Carl S. Cavender ("Carl Cavender" & “C.S. Cavender”) born March 1874 in Coweta County, Georgia, died of cancer October 3, 1940 in Coweta County, Georgia, and is buried in the Oakhill Cemetery in Newnan, Georgia. In 1900 he was working as a hostler and in 1910 he was living at home with his father and was working in a butcher shop and in a livery stable; Hugh Cavender born in November 1876. According to the 1900 census for Coweta County, Georgia he was then living at home and working as a hostler and, according to the 1910 census for Coweta County, Georgia, he was then still living at home but working as a butcher; Ona Cavender born October 5, 1879, married Fred Augustus Tolar ("Fred Tolar") July 15, 1907 in Coweta County, Georgia, was an accomplished musician and teacher, and died July 19, 1962. Fred Tolar was the son of John Franklin Tolar ("John Tolar") and Mary Parmelia Hay ("Mary Hay"), and died July 26, 1950. Ona Tolar was an accomplished musician and teacher. Fred Tolar and Ona Tolar had 2 children: Mary Elizabeth Tolar ("Mary Tolar") married Lawrence W. McKoon ("Lawrence McKoon") of Luthersville, Georgia on June 16, 1934 in Coweta County, Georgia. Lawrence McKoon served in WWII and they had one son: Douglas McKoon born in 1945; and, Frances Tolar who married John McCrory Hill ("John Hill") and they had one child named: Jessie Frances Hill ("Jessie Hill") born November 23, 1942 and lived in Atlanta, Georgia; Neal Cavender born about 1883; Julie Cavender ("Jule Cavender" & “Jules Cavener”) born in February 1886 in Coweta County, Georgia, and died September 25, 1956 in Coweta County, Georgia. According to the 1910 census, he was then living with his parents and working as a cattle dealer; and, Vern Cavender born in August 1888, married Mrs. Pansy Kimble, lived in Americus and was a telegraph operator in Americus, Georgia, and had no children. Pansy Kimble had 3 children by her previous marriage; (iv) OBEDIAH MORGAN CAVENDER (“Obediah M. Cavender”, “O.M. Cavender”, "Obediah Cavender," "Obadiah Cavender"? & "Morgan Cavender") born March 19, 1848 in Coweta County, Georgia, on July 16, 1868 married Ella N. Hannon (“Ella N. Harmon”?, “Ella Harmon”? & "Ella Hannon") in Coweta County, Georgia and whose parents were from South Carolina. He died May 22, 1927 in Coweta County and is buried with his wife in Elim Baptist Church Cemetery in Coweta County, Georgia. Ella Hannon was born April 12, 1849 and died March 26, 1914 in Coweta County, Georgia. Her parents were from South Carolina. Obediah Cavender ("Obadiah Cavender"?) enlisted in Company D of the 9th Georgia Regiment in June 1864, probably served in the First Georgia Calvary with his brothers William Cavender and Seaborn Cavender, and was discharged in North Carolina in April 1865. The story is told that Obediah Cavender ("Obadiah Cavender"?) was severely beaten by Yankee soldiers who came across him while he was holding the horses for his company. When he would not tell them where his company was, they beat him and left him for dead. According to the 1870, 1880 and 1910 censuses, he was then living in the 4th.. District of Coweta County, Georgia, and, when he died, he was then living on McIntosh Road in the 4th.. District. By 1910, Obediah Cavender ("Obadiah Cavender"?) had 12 children and 9 were then alive. Of the 12 children of Obediah Cavender ("Obadiah Cavender"?) and Ella Cavender, only the names of 11 are known: Eugenia Cavender born May 14, 1869 in Coweta County, Georgia, married Thomas Franklin Hardigree ("Thomas Hardigree" & "Thomas Hardegree") September 16, 1885 in Coweta County, Georgia, died September 2, 1960 in Coweta County, and is buried with her husband in the Elim Baptist Church in Coweta County. Thomas Hardigree was born January 22, 1859 to Zacharia Hardigree and a Mary, and died April 9, 1956. Thomas Hardigree and Eugenia Hardigree had 12 children: Willie Mae Hardigree born September 1889; Bruce Hardigree born September 1890 in Georgia and married Pauline Banks on December 2, 1917 in Coweta County, Georgia and lived in Franklin, Heard County, Georgia; Harvy Hardigree born in October 1891 in Georgia, became a medical doctor, and lived in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky; Thomas Glen Hardigree ("Thomas Hardigree") born April 30, 1892, married Lucy Webb ("Lula Webb"?), died June 29, 1966, and is buried in the Elim Baptist Church in Coweta County, Georgia. Lucy Webb was born January 19, 1894 and died July 6, 1965; Naomi Hardigree born in October 1894; Otis Hardigree born in April 1895; Robert Henry Hardigree ("Robert Hardigree") born September 23, 1896 died April 23, 1913, and is buried in the Elim Baptist Church in Coweta County, Georgia; Eugenia Hardigree born in September 1898; Zella Hardigree born about 1900; Fannie E. Hardigree ("Frances Hardigree" & "Fannie Hardigree") born June 20, 1903, married Jesse Stephens, died February 2, 1971, and is buried in the Elim Baptist Church in Coweta County, Georgia; James E. Hardigree ("James Hardigree") born August 10, 1904, married Alma Luckie, died March 23, 1970, and is buried in the Elim Baptist Church in Coweta County, Georgia. James Hardigree and Alma Hardigree had one child named: Peniston Hardigree who was born April 19, 1928 in Newnan, Georgia; and, Mary Hardigree born in 1908; Robert Tuggle Cavender ("Robert Cavender" & “R.T. Cavender”) born about 1870, died about 1912 and is buried in the Elim Baptist Church in Coweta County, Georgia; Frances Lee Cavender ("Frances Cavender", “F.L. Cavender” & "Fannie Cavender") born in March 1874, married Ruben Jackson ("Reuben Jackson") and had 2 sons; William Henry Cavender ("William Cavender", “William H. Cavender”, “W.H. Cavender” & "Will Cavender") born either April 29, 1876 or November 29, 1876403 in Coweta County, Georgia, married April 7, 1938 to Dora Elizabeth Powell ("Dora Powell" & "Dovie Powell"), and died January 5, 1960 in Carroll County, Georgia. Dora Powell was born June 5, 1888 to Francis Park Powell ("Francis Powell") and Luradine Allen. William Cavender is buried at Elim Baptist Church and, as of 1986, Dora Powell was still living. The 1910 census shows William Cavender as being single and boarding with Walter C. Grace ("Walter Grace") at 19½ Court Square. He was a bookkeeper for a retail dry goods store and managed a pool room; Annie Barrow Cavender ("Annie Cavender", “Ann Cavender”? & “A.B. Cavender”) born in March 1878, married a Huckabe, and had 2 children: Tommie Rebecca Huckabe ("Tommie Huckabe" & "Thomas Huckabe"?); and, William Huckabe who lived in Waycross, Georgia; Earnest Cavender born about 1878, died about 1881, and is buried in the Elim Baptist Church in Coweta County, Georgia; Samuel Obediah Cavender ("Samuel Cavender", “Samuel O. Cavender”, “S.O. Cavender” & "Obadiah Cavender"?) born in January 1881, and married Daisy Hickman (“Dasty Hickman”?) on March 8, 1908 in Bibb County, Georgia with the ceremony being conducted by J.B. Phillips. Samuel Cavender and Daisy Cavender had 6 children: Margaret Eloise Cavender ("Margaret Cavender" & “M.E. Cavender”?) born May 9, 1910,first married Dallas Lyman Ross ("Dallas Ross") on February 23, 1931 in Bibb County, Georgia, apparently later married a Roberts, and died June 14, 1975. Dallas Ross was the son of Early Ernest Ross ("Early Ross") and Ida Mae Tucker ("Ida Tucker"); Robert Edwin Cavender ("Robert Cavender" & “R.B. Cavender”); Virginia Cavender who apparently married a Stallworth; William Leroy Cavender (“William Cavender” & “W.L. Cavender”); Ernest Eugene Cavender ("Ernest Cavender" & “E.E. Cavender”) born either August 19, 1921 or August 19, 1922, married Amy Murner in Bibb County, Georgia with the ceremony being conducted by H.M. Cannon, lived in Martinez, Georgia, and died about 1990 in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia. Amy Murner was born about 1924 in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia to Ernest Cavender and Amy Cavender had 2 children: Samuel Eugene Cavender (“Samuel Cavender” & “S.E. Cavender”) who lives in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia; and, Sandra Jean Cavender (“Sandra Cavender” & “S.J. Cavender”) born October 22, 1952 in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia, and married Henry Thomas Parker (“Henry Parker”) who was born July 7, 1950. Henry Parker and Sandra Parker had 4 children: Thomas Christopher Parker (“Thomas Parker”) born September 16, 1972 in Charleston, Charleston County, South Carolina, and married Mary Elizabeth Miller (“Mary Miller”) on June 20, 1999. Mary Miller was born September 22, 1971 inElizabeth City, Pasquitank County, North Carolina to James Ray Miller (“James Miller”) who was born December 27, 1948 in Virginia, Virginia Beach and Mary LaMour Perry (“Mary Perry”) who was born September 30, 1948.
