Nancy Paschal was born in Hampshire County, Virginia (now Hampshire County, West Virginia) on July 20, 1818, was the daughter of David Paschal (1786-1853) and a Catherine (1789-1872), executed her Last Will and Testament on August 4, 1887 in Newton, Jasper County, Iowa, died February 29, 1888 at Jasper County, Iowa at the age of 69, and is buried in the Palo Alto Cemetery in Palo Alto Township in Jasper County, Iowa. In her Will, she bequests to her children: Mary Rexroat, Samuel Cavender, Virginia Preston, David Cavender, James Cavender, Joseph Cavender, Maggie Cavender (“Margaret Cavender”?), and to the children of her daughter, Zerolina Grey. John Cavender and his wife Nancy Cavender are buried in lot 66 of Palo Alto Cemetery in Palo Alto Township in Jasper County, Iowa. In her obituary, Nancy Cavender is said to have had 11 children, 8 of which survived her. However, there is a possibility that John Cavender and Nancy Cavender actually had the following 13 children: Amanda Bell Cavender ?("Amanda Cavender" & “A.B. Cavender”) born July 29, 1841 in Ohio and died August 1842 in Ohio; Adelia Annis Cavender ?("Adelia Cavender" & “A.A. Cavender”) born July 29, 1841 in Ohio and died on August 1842 in Ohio; Mary Flore Cavender (“M.F. Cavender” & "Mary Cavender") born December 5, 1842 near Columbus in Greene County, Ohio, married Abraham Jacob Rexroat ("Abraham J. Rexroat" & Abraham Rexroat") May 11, 1862 in Morgan County, Illinois, had 10 children, lived in Jasper County, Iowa for nearly 60 years, was a member of the Methodist Episcopalain Church, died July 28, 1919 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George W. Lust (“George Lust”) near Tool’s Chapel in Monroe, Jasper County, Iowa at the age of 76, and is buried in the Fairview Cemetery in Jasper County, in Monroe Township in Jasper County, Iowa. Abraham Rexroat was born April 21, 1836 in Morgan County, Illinois, and died January 5, 1917 in Monroe Township in Jasper County, Iowa at the age of 78. Their children, all born in Jasper County, Iowa, were: Nancy Elizabeth Rexroat ("Nancy E. Rexroat" & "Nancy Rexroat") born October 20, 1886 in Morgan County, Illinois, first married George W. Lust ("George Lust") on October 20, 1887 in Jasper County, Iowa, later married a Pratt, and died in 1951 in Jasper County, Iowa at the age of 76. George Lust was born in 1859, was the son of Peter Lust and his mother's maiden name was Kenner, and he died in 1935 in Jasper County, Iowa at the age of 76 years. The children of George Lust and Nancy Lust (formerly "Nancy Rexroat") were: Blanche Lust; Mabel Lust; Vida Lust; Lawrence Lust; Lettie Lust; Opal Lust; Leland Lust; and, Russell Lust. By her first marriage, Nancy Pratt had a daughter named: Mary Lou Pratt ("Mary Pratt") who married a James; Mary Rose Ann Rexroat ("Mary Rexroat") born either on June 29, 1868 in Jasper County, Iowa, first married Nathan Wilson on June 28, 1886 in Jasper County, Iowa, and later married C. Mark Luke ("Mark Luke") on January 12, 1893 in Jasper County, Iowa, and later married Daniel Spencer and still later married Edward Short ("Ed Short") on September 7, 1860, and died July 16, 1930 in Jasper County, Iowa at the age of 62. Nathan Wilson was born in 1864 and was the son of Washington Wilson and Jane Wilson (formerly "Jane Flaugh"). Mark Luke was born in 1855 and was the son of John Luke and a McDonald.
