27.2 legends There are no standard rules for writing legends to figures and tables. I recommend making your caption grammatically correct, for example use articles and prepositions where required. Below is a possible format:

avoid expressions such as above, below, later, on the previous page, in the next section . Refer the reader to a specific heading and page number.
