- Giardiasis is food- and waterborne disease in many parts of the world.
- Contaminated water, raw vegetables, foods such as salads and sandwiches, and poor personal hygiene are considered the major causes of the disease.
- The main symptoms are acute or chronic diarrhea and abdominal pain.
