Construction



00253.40 Temporary Construction Element Construction and Restoration – Construct and restore temporary construction elements within the limits approved by the Engineer. Cuts, fills, loading, drainage, and stockpiling may adversely affect the stability of existing sitelandslide areasslopes. Provide mitigations for slope instability related to construction of the temporary construction element(s).



00253.49 Performance - Construct and restore temporary construction elements according to the approved plans. Do not deviate from the approved plans.



Measurement



00250.80 Measurement – No measurement of quantities will be made for work performed under this Section.



Payment



00253.90 Payment – The accepted quantities of work performed under this Section will be paid for on an lump sum basis for the Contract item “Temporary Construction Elements”.



Payment will be in full for furnishing and placing all materials, and for furnishing all equipment, labor, and incidentals necessary to complete the work as specified.



No separate or additional payment will be made for designing, maintaining, and restoring temporary construction elements.

SECTION 00280 - EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL



(Follow all instructions. If there are no instructions above a subsection, paragraph, sentence, or bullet, then include them in the project. The specifications may be modified to include project specific specifications, but all additions, deletions, or modifications must be sent to the ODOT Technical Resource and Senior Specifications Engineer for review and approval.)
(Use the following lead-in paragraph when subsections .48 and .90 are NOT included in the project.)
Comply with Section 00280 of the Standard Specifications.
(Use the following lead-in paragraph when any of the following subsections are included in the project.)
Comply with Section 00280 of the Standard Specifications modified as follows:

(Use the following subsection .48 on projects that require emergency materials. Obtain information from the Erosion Control Designer. Only list items that are included in the Schedule of Items.)00280.15 (a) Type 2: Fiber Rolls – Add the following bullet to the end of this After the last bullet point of this subsection, add the following:




  • When fiber rolls are installed on pavement, and where shown on plans, provide sandbags (00280.15 (a)) to weight fiber rolls firmly to pavement surface.


00280.16 (d) Inlet Protection – At the end of this subsection, add the following:
Type 8:
Curb Inlet Sediment Dam – Provide prefabricated filter dams sized and shaped to fit the opening to curb inlet type catch basins.
00280.42 (c) Permanent Stabilization – After the last bullet point of this subsection, add the following:


  • Apply medium grind bark mulch as shown on plans and where existing vegetation is anticipated to quickly cover disturbed areas. Bark dust or bark with fines will not be allowed.


00280.44 Erosion Prevention – Add the following subsection:
(g) Sweeping: During the course of the work day, and at the end of each work day sweep and remove dirt and debris from work area.

00280.46 (e) Sediment Barriers – After the sentence in this subsection add the following:
At the end of each work day (but prior to removing traffic control) and where shown on plans, weight with sandbags, sediment barrier, type 3 to firm contact with pavement. At the beginning of work day, but after installation of traffic control, reinstall weighted sediment barriers, type 3.
00280.48  Emergency Materials - Add the following paragraphs after the paragraph that begins "Provide, stockpile, and protect...":
Provide and stockpile the following emergency materials on the Project site:
