GABBY Awards to be held at: 4000 Summit Blvd NE, Atlanta, GA 30319

ATLANTA – The Georgia Association of Broadcasters (GAB) holds its annual GABBY Awards on Friday, June 10th at 7pm. The event will be held this year at the Hyatt Regency at Villa Christina in Brookhaven (address found above) and features a diverse program and list of honors. GAB Hall of Fame Broadcaster Monica Pearson will host the event.
“Over 90 percent of Georgians receive their news, weather and emergency information from our state’s over-the-air radio and television broadcasters every day and this is the night we all come together to recognize our excellence and community service,” said GAB President Bob Houghton.
GABBY Awards for Georgia Broadcasting Excellence will be given in various categories for radio, television and new media. GAB will honor WXIA-TV/WATL President and General Manager John Deushane as the Broadcaster of the Year and recognize First Lady Sandra Deal as the Georgian of the Year. The evening of honors will begin at 5:30pm with a pre-GABBY reception, followed by the awards show at 7pm and culminate with an after party immediately following the awards show. Popular local Atlanta band ALL THE LOCALS will provide live entertainment at the reception and after party. Members of the media should RSVP if planning to attend by emailing admin@gab.org or calling the GAB office during normal business hours.
