Capital One Division I Academic All-America® Women’s At-Large Team
Joining Beisel on the Capital One Academic All-America® women’s at-large first team are three golfers, two other swimmers, two ice hockey players, a bowler, a gymnast, a skier, a lacrosse player, a tennis player, a crew team member and a water polo standout.
Golfers Amy Anderson of North Dakota State University, Kim Kaufman of Texas Tech University and Stephanie Meadow of the University of Alabama were named to the first team while swimmers Kelsey Floyd of the University of Tennessee and Lauren Gustafson of Purdue University join Beisel on the first team. Ice hockey players Jocelyne Lamoureux of the University of North Dakota and Noora Räty of the University of Minnesota were also honored, along with water polo standout Flora Bolonyai of the University of Southern California, bowler Megan Buja of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, rower Sarah Cowburn of the University of Virginia, lacrosse player Jasmine DePompeo of the U.S. Naval Academy, skier Anja Gruber from the University of Vermont, gymnast Kim Jacob of the University of Alabama and tennis player Petra Niedermayerova of Kansas State University.
Six of the 15 players on the first team are repeat performers from 2012. Anderson and Beisel were named to the first team last year, while Floyd and Lamoureux were part of the second team. DePompeo and Kaufman were third-team honorees in 2012.

A senior accounting major with a 3.97 G.P.A., Anderson is the first three-time Summit League golf champion. She led the league for the fourth straight year with career-best 72.84 average, posting a low round of 68. The Oxbow, N.D., native had five tournament wins this season and a school record 20 career wins. She led North Dakota State to the 2013 Summit League title and its first-ever NCAA Regional. A three-time Summit League Distinguished Scholar and National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-America Scholar, Anderson is a four-time NCAA qualifier. Named as the Summit League Golfer of the Year three times and the 2012 Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, she led the 2011 U.S. Women's Open after first day and also played for the United States in the 2012 Curtis Cup and 2012 World University Golf Championships.
Honored as a second team All-American by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) in 2013, Kaufman is a senior political science major at Texas Tech with a perfect 4.00 G.P.A. She is the first two-time All-American in Texas Tech women’s golf history. She was named honorable mention All-America by the NGCA and Golfweek Magazine as a junior and she averaged 72.3 strokes per round as a senior, recording seven top-five finishes in 12 events played with one tournament victory. Kaufman, who ended the year ranked 22nd in the nation by Golfweek, earned All-Big 12 honors in 2012 and 2013 and was named as the 2013 Big 12 Women’s Golf Scholar Athlete of the Year. The Clark, S.D., native was a three-time Academic All-Big 12 honoree.
A junior accounting major with a 4.00 G.P.A., Meadow led the nation in scoring at 71.24 and carded 21 of 33 rounds at par or lower with 12 rounds in the 60’s. A first team WGCA All-American, she is Alabama’s first three-time first team All-American and All-Southeastern Conference honoree. The 2013 SEC Player of the Year and Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Meadow holds the school record with seven career tournament wins, including the 2013 SEC Championship, the 2013 NCAA East Regional and the 2011 NCAA East Regional. A native of Jordanstown, Northern Ireland, she finished tied for sixth at the 2013 NCAA Championships. She holds school records for season (71.24) and career (72.11) scoring and is a two-time NGCA All-American Scholar.
A senior sport management and recreation major with a 3.70 G.P.A., Floyd finished her career with the most career All-America honors in Tennessee history with 24, earning six as a senior. She swam a leg on all three of the Lady Vols' NCAA Championship relay teams, helping Tennessee to a program-best third-place finish at the NCAA Meet. The Lexington, Ky., native is a recipient of an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship and was named to the 2012 CSCAA Scholar All-America team. Floyd won six career Southeastern Conference titles and was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll three times.
A senior majoring in general health science at Purdue, Gustafson has a 3.99 G.P.A. An NCAA and Big Ten Postgraduate Scholarship recipient, she competed in five events (two individual, three relays) at the NCAA Championships. At the Big Ten Championships, Gustafson accounted for 28.5 points. A two-time NCAA Championships qualifier, the Columbus, Ind., native is a two-time honorable mention All-American. Gustafson established a Purdue record in the 50-free and was part of school records in all five relay events during her career. She is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.
A graduate student in kinesiology, Lamoureux has a perfect 4.00 G.P.A. In 2013, she played in 39 games and scored 35 goals, 46 assists and 81 points for North Dakota en route to first team All-America honors. A finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Award as the top player in NCAA women's hockey, she was named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) Most Outstanding Student-Athlete for the second time and became WCHA’s all-time scoring leader with 285 points in 149 games. Lamoureux led the nation with 12 power-play goals and was tied for first in the NCAA with nine game-winning goals. The third-leading scorer in the nation, she was a WCHA Scholar-Athlete who led the U.S. to a gold medal at the 2013 Women’s World Hockey Championship in April.

A senior journalism major with a 3.50 G.P.A, Räty was one of the top goalkeepers in the nation and led Minnesota to its second straight national championship. She posted a 0.96 goals against average and a .956 save percentage with 17 shutouts and 776 saves. A native of Espoo, Finland, she was a three-time All-American, a three-time Patty Kazmaier Award finalist and two-time NCAA Tournament MVP. Räty, who holds seven NCAA records, is a four-time All-WCHA honoree, a three-time WCHA All-Academic selection and a 14-time WCHA Player of the Week. The two-time WCHA Goaltending champion is a two-time Olympian for Finland.
A member of Southern California’s national champion water polo team and the MVP of NCAA Tournament, Bolonyai is a junior with a double major in economics and mathematics and a 3.39 G.P.A. The Budapest, Hungary, native posted a career-high 17 saves in the national championship game and averaged 13.3 saves per game during the NCAA Tournament. She led USC to the 2013 MPSF title and was a first team All-MPSF selection. A two-time Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-American, she was an ACWPC All-Academic honoree twice and a three-time MPSF Scholar-Athlete. Bolonyai played for the 2012 Hungarian Olympic.
A native of Rockford, Ill., Buja is a junior human ecology major with a 4.00 G.P.A. A bowler at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore posted a total pinfall of 11,920 and had a 198.67 average with a 266 high team game. A member of four national championship teams at UMES, Buja was the 2012 and 2013 NCAA Elite 89 Award winner. A two-time All-MEAC selection and MEAC All-Academic honoree, she was named the United States Bowling Congress Star of Tomorrow and was the 2012 and 2013 UMES Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Cowburn, a graduate student in architectural history with a 3.95 G.P.A., was a member of Virginia’s Varsity Eight that went 15-2 and placed fourth at the NCAA Championship this season. A native of Worcestershire, England, she is a two-time Atlantic Coast Conference Crew of the Year member and was named All-ACC twice. A member of the 2012 national championship team, Cowburn was a 2012 Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) first team All-American and was named to the 2012 ACC All-Academic Team and ACC Honor Roll.
A senior political science major with a 3.42 G.P.A., DePompeo scored 127 points with 56 goals, 71 assists, and a .519 shooting percentage to lead the Navy lacrosse team to a 19-2 record and the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Sayville, N.Y., native led the nation in points and points per game (6.05) en route to Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) third team All-America honors. A three-time All-South Region honoree, DePompeo was named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year three times. The NCAA active leader in points and assists, she was twice named Patriot League Tournament MVP and earned PL All-Academic Team honors twice.
A junior business administration major with a 3.95 G.P.A., Gruber was the 2013 NCAA national champion in classical as Vermont finished third at the NCAA Ski Championships and won its third-straight Eastern Intercollegiate Skiing Association (EISA) championship. A 2013 EISA All-East first team pick, she was named to the second team in 2012. The Leutkrich, Germany, native was named to the 2013 NCAA Skiing All-Academic Team and was a nominee for the 2013 Elite 89 Award.
Jacob, a junior exercise science major with a perfect 4.00 G.P.A., led the Alabama gymnastics team with 14 individual titles, 23 scores of 9.9 or better and 51 routines overall in 2013. The 2013 NCAA Elite 89 Award winner, Jacob led Alabama to 2011 and 2012 NCAA team championships and a third-place finish in 2013. A seven-time All-American who earned three honors this year, she was a two-time National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches (NACGC) Scholastic All-American. The 2013 NCAA Regional uneven bars and balance beam champion, Jacob was the 2013 and 2012 Southeastern Conference Gymnastics Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Ranked No. 15 in singles and No. 26 in doubles by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) at Kansas State, Niedermayerova is a junior majoring in economics with a 3.96 G.P.A. She posted a 32-10 singles record and a 27-12 mark in doubles. Niedermayerova reached the Round of 16 for the second straight season at the NCAA Singles Championships and also advanced to the Round of 16 at the 2013 NCAA Doubles Championships. The two-time ITA All-American was the 2011 and 2013 ITA Central Region Player to Watch. A native of Brno, Czech Republic, she was the 2013 Big 12 Conference No. 1 doubles champion and set Kansas State records for singles wins in a season (32), doubles wins in a season (27) and career singles wins (80). She is a two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and two-time Academic All-Big 12 honoree.
The 15 members of the 2013 Capital One Academic All-America® Division I At-Large women’s first team have an average G.P.A. of 3.82. Four student-athletes, Buja, Jacob, Kaufman and Meadow, have perfect 4.00 G.P.A’s.
