If we look at 20 countries that have continuously held democratic
elections since World War II, we see that turnout in parliamentary elections has declined.

or the United States, it still surpasses 80
percent in Denmark, Iceland, and Sweden.
In countries with mandatory voting, turnout is even higher. More than 90 percent of eligible voters regularly show up at the polls in Australia, Belgium, and Luxembourg.
