Umpire Clinic Memo, 11/10/03

Page two of three

The format for this year’s clinic will follow the same successful format as 2003. At last year clinic we had 600 umpires from various states. We encourage attendance by all conference and non-conference umpires. The NCAA and all geographical conferences are committed to the overall umpire improvement program and the development of a consistent training program for all collegiate umpires. The inclusion of umpires from regional assigning agencies who will be working non-conference games is an important step in this development program and we encourage their attendance for all days of the clinic.
If you are an assignor for a local or regional collegiate umpiring association, please forward this information to the umpires in your group. Any conference umpire who receives this memo may forward it to any umpire who works NCAA Division II or III, NAIA or NJCAA games. The clinic will be an excellent educational program for all umpires and will help to identify and train umpires for future work at the Division I level.
Prior to the clinic all umpires must register in the lobby. A clinic agenda and a listing of the meeting topics and schedule are attached on the following pages. If you or your assignor for non-conference or any collegiate games has any questions, please contact Coordinator of Baseball Umpires, Tony Thompson by E-mail at, scollump@aol.com.
Best wishes for a happy and healthy Thanksgiving and a peaceful and fulfilling holiday season. Have a safe New Year and we’ll see you in Atlanta on the 16th.
