On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Understand technological and professional foundations and theory of Telemedicine
  • Identify potential Benefits and challenges related to the implementation of Telemedicine
  • Discuss the conditions for successfully implementing Telemedicine system
  • Advance the theoretical and practical knowledge which will enable them to take leading roles within the emerging field of Telemedicine

    • Clinical support system (EMR, eHMIS, DHIS, LIS, LMIS)

Teaching/ Learning Strategy

The course will be in the form of:

  • Lectures, Interactive Presentations, Group Discussions and Papers,
  • Assignments and Presentations
    • Students will review eHealth, telemedicine related articles & Make presentations
    • Students will make review of open source eHealth Technology and Telemdcine related software application in low resources environments
  • Reading Assignments

Role of Instructor and Students

Role Of Instructor:

Delivers lectures, prepares and evaluates assignments, gives consultation and advises students on topics related to the module and evaluates final examination.

Role of Students:

Attends lectures and discussions, works in groups and individually on selected assignments, studies and reports on assignments and papers, discusses with the instructor on topics of interest for project work, delivers and presents paper, works on the exam.
