attempts by an Islamic sect to force its ideas on an unwilling society. This created the feeling that Nigerians are not free to hold different religious views. Therefore persons from particular parts of the country and adherents of certain faiths felt unwelcome and unsafe in some other parts of Nigeria. It is obvious that such attitudes negatively influenced the process of national integration and development in Nigeria.
