Don’t just take any summer job. Look for a job that interests you AND will enhance your college applications. Phone some professional organizations in your community and inquire about opportunities. If you can’t find a paying job, consider volunteering as an intern.

  • Take a summer school class at a college for enrichment (not for Trinity credit)

  • Apply for community service – there are some excellent summer community service opportunities that combine travel, education and community service. Here are a few examples:

People to People: www.studentambassadors.org

Rustic Pathways: www.rusticpath.com

Global Routes: www.globalroutes.org

Volunteer Match: www.volunteermatch.org

Ronald McDonald House Charities: www.rmhc.org

  • Take a unique teen adventure trip or an educational language immersion trip with students from all over the world such as:

Action Quest: www.actionquest.com

Odyssey Expeditions: www.OdysseyExpeditions.org

Broadreach: www.gobroadreach.com

American Council for International Studies (ACIS): www.acis.com

  • Volunteer at a company that might be a career interest for you or something like:
