The Environmental Division participated in the annual Mining Week Activities which took place in various locations. The Theme for the year’s celebrations was “Improved Recovery, Reducing Impact, Securing the Future”. The Guyana Geology and Mines Commission’s Medical Unit collaborated with Mahdia Hospital Staff in the Medical and Health Booth at the Exhibition. They distributed various health pamphlets, posters and fliers; condoms and treated mosquito nets to residents and miners from the Community.
