Hyundai Motor’s largest UK dealership opens in Glasgow
New £4m dealership opens its doors in Alexandra Parade, Glasgow
More than 20 new Hyundai vehicles on display and 150 used cars on site
Flagship dealership showcases latest global dealer identity
High Wycombe, 20 July 2016 - The largest Hyundai dealership in the UK is now open for business near the centre of Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow. The new showroom and service centre, which is operated by the Arnold Clark group, covers a combined area of 857sqm and is located in the bustling East End – known as the ‘creative quarter’ of the city.
The new showroom displays more than 20 of the latest cars from the Hyundai range over three levels. There are also more than 150 used cars on display and over 50 trained staff on site, across the sales, service and parts functions. The dealership boasts seven workshop bays including a dedicated MOT bay plus a specialist wheel alignment bay.
Arnold Clark first opened a Hyundai franchise in Glasgow in 2002, followed by a second location in the city in 2012. Sales continued to grow, and in 2015 more than 1,100 Hyundai vehicles were registered across both sites. At this point, a decision was made to consolidate the two locations into a brand new flagship ‘super dealership’ with an investment of £4 million.
Martin Wilson, Sales Director, Hyundai Motor UK, said, “As our largest dealership in the UK, Alexandra Parade Hyundai gives us a strong ‘brand statement’ in the heart of the city. It demonstrates a substantial level of investment from Arnold Clark and incorporates the latest Hyundai global dealer space identity. With so many exciting new models around the corner, we’re delighted to have such an impressive flagship site in the UK.”
David Munton, Arnold Clark Hyundai Franchise Manager, said, “This exciting new venture for Arnold Clark and for Hyundai consolidates the very best we have to offer customers in Glasgow. With this flagship branch, we can offer variety, value and an exceptional level of service, all from a convenient central location.”
Overlooking the M8 motorway running through the centre of Glasgow, the new Hyundai showroom is highly visible both day and night. The new dealer identity features a warm bronze exterior to the showroom and a strong natural light flow through the interior. Customers benefit from a relaxing and inspiring atmosphere, with lounge seating and tablet computers, allowing them to explore the Hyundai brand in more detail.
