Majority of the patients were in the age group of 20-24 yrs (51.4%) and only 2.9% patients were in the age group of 35-39 yrs.

This did not differ significantly between the two study groups.

In low BS group 60 % patients were nulliparas and 40 % were multiparas. Similarly, in the high BS group 78% patients were nulliparas and 22% were multiparas. Majority of the patients in both the study groups were nullparas. So, more nulliparas than multiparas needed induction of labour in this study.


GESTATIONAL AGE :

The difference in gestational age in both groups was not significant statistically (P=0.2496). The mean gestational age was 40.37  1.26 weeks and 40.41  1.24 weeks in low BS and high BS groups respectively.
