Privilege telecommunication

The Administration of Turkey intends to provide telecommunication services (telephone and fax, telegram, telex) to duly authorized participants in the above-mentioned Radiocommunication Assembly (RA-2000), World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-2000) and Conference Preparatory Meeting (CPM-2000), and to consider those services as “privilege telecommunication”, in accordance with the provisions of Article 2, Nos. 18 to 20, and Appendix 3 of the International Telecommunication Regulations (Melbourne, 1988).

Administrations and recognized operating agencies (ROAs) not in a position to forgo the inclusion of such classes of telecommunication in international accounting are requested to inform: Türk Telekomünikasyon A.S., 06103 Ankara, Turkey (Fax: +90 312 3132940; Tlx: 0607 44291 uidb tr; Tg: uidb Ankara).

Maritime Identification Digits (MID)


In accordance with No. S19.35 of the Radio Regulations, the Maritime Identification Digit (MID) “311” has been allocated to the Bahamas.

At the request of the Administrations of Germany, Guatemala, United Kingdom and Venezuela, the Director of the TSB has assigned the following signalling area/network codes (SANC) for use in the international part of the signalling systems No. 7 network of these countries/geographical areas, in accordance with ITU-T Recommendation Q.708 (03/99):

Replies to the Second Questionnaire on the status of
implementation of time “T”
(TSB Circular 196 of 11 June 1999)


ITU-T Recommendation E.164 (The International Public Telecommunication Numbering Plan) details the format and structure of the public switched telephone network (PSTN) numbering plan. This Recommendation states that all switches and networks should have the capability of handling international telephone numbers up to a maximum length of 15 digits and analysing up to 7 digits. Previously, the maximum digit length was 12 digits with the digit analysis of up to 5 digits.

Through TSB Circular 196 of 11 June 1999, the Telecommunication Standardization Bureau sent a questionnaire to all Administrations on the status of implementation of time “T”.
