Enrollment Trends in Massachusetts Public Schools
Massachusetts public school enrollment has grown by about 9 percent over the past decade. While the enrollment by grade level has remained relatively stable, the demographics have changed significantly.

While students in grades 1-5 made up more than 35 percent of the public school enrollment in 2005, the pre-kindergarten and kindergarten enrollment have remained steady at approximately 10 percent of the total state enrollment.
