The ten people are engaged in the island’s four careers as follows supervisor, owner, owner, laborer, supervisor, laborer, clerk, clerk, owner, clerk. In regard to the production of widgets, the status quo action on the island has always been to take action X. As one of the owners, I am considering whether to advocate a switch to an alternative action Y. I expect that such a change will greatly benefit the labourers, somewhat benefit the owners, greatly harm the supervisors, and not affect the clerks.
