EMERGENCY ESCAPE ROUTE ASSIGNMENTS

Use escape routes as shown in the Emergency Evacuation Plan posted in every department.


Use the escape route that will provide the safest exit from the building.
All personnel will evacuate to the evacuation area that is across the driveway from the front sidewalk.
PROCEDURES TO FOLLOW FOR SHUTDOWN

SAFETY OF EMPLOYEES COMES FIRST.
The senior employee of the department will give the order to do the prescribed procedures for shutdown of equipment or security of contents that will be needed.
COMMERCIAL OFFICE

During any emergency the senior employee will appoint an employee to take security of the cash drawer and daily register sheet. That employee will lock them in the safe if it can be done safely.


When a shutdown order is given by the senior employee the employee that has been appointed to security will lock the cash drawer and daily register sheet in the safe or evacuate to the evacuation area with them. An employee will assist in the evacuation of customers. If permitted close all doors, windows and turn off the hvac unit. All employees will report to the evacuation area.
CENTRAL OFFICE

When the senior employee gives the order to shutdown, all employees will turn off any equipment in their area that can be done safely. The senior employee will appoint an employee to retrieve the subscriber paper back-up cable records and retrieve the DCO digital tape from the tape drive.

Engineering department employees will take with them the BER, ACD and CPR records.


All employees will report to the evacuation area.

PROCEDURES TO ACCOUNT FOR ALL

EMPLOYEES AFTER EVACUATION
The senior employee of his/her department will account for the employees of that department.
The senior employee of each department will report to the senior employee at the evacuation area.
RESCUE AND FIRST AID

The employee with the most rescue and first aid training will appoint a team to rescue and render first aid until fire or medical help arrives.


DO NOT RENDER HELP if it will put you or any one else in danger.
SAFETY OF EMPLOYEE COMES FIRST.

EMERGENCY ACTION PLAN
MEANS OF REPORTING EMERGENCIES

Emergency telephone numbers are posted in every department.


ALWAYS REPORT EMERGENCIES FROM A SAFE AREA.

The senior employee will gather all the information he/she can about the emergency and appoint a person to call for emergency assistance.


That person will first use Intercom Paging (PAGE) to announce the emergency evacuation.
EXAMPLE: Emergency Shutdown in the Commercial Office.
Then they will call for emergency assistance.
The senior employee will notify the Safety Coordinator and/or Manager as soon as possible.
The Safety Coordinator will notify the Vice President/Director of Operations.
