The exterior of the LMV was designed during a student competition held by the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CCS) in the University of Michigan – Dearborn, as shown in Figure 2.3. The design was chosen because it had the highest potential of achieving the stringent weight, cost, and investment objectives without sacrificing occupant comfort.
