Scope and Delimitation of the Study
This research is focused mainly on household solid waste, which is apart of municipal solid waste. The field survey will extract data about whether residents in the study area separate household solid waste generated in residential buildings, which are houses owned by individuals who live alone with their families, tenement buildings with multiple tenancies and blocks of apartments within Alimosho Local Government Area. The presence of waste bins in the residences mentioned above will be examined, information on the categories of waste generated by the households will be retrieved and efforts will be made to find out how wastes generated in these households are disposed to be able to make valid deductions. It is pertinent to note that, the study excludes assessment of the source collection of wastes generated in small-scale business premises, market stalls, industries or medical facilities within the study area, as these are outside the purview of the present research.
