Histoire de l'école

L'école Édouard VII a vu le jour en 1912. Elle fait alors partie de la Commission Protestante du Grand Montréal. Le premier directeur s'appelait Irving Vincent et fut en charge de l'école jusqu'en 1920. Pendant 66 ans, l'école sera seulement anglaise. En 1978, une section de l'école sera transformée en classe française, cohabitant avec les classes anglaises. En 1984, elle devient entièrement francophone. L'année suivante, ayant un surplus, on ouvre une annexe dans l'école Guy Drummond qui deviendra école indépendante après deux ans. En 1999, l'école s'intègre à la CSDM, la Commission Scolaire de Montréal. En l'an 2000, on élabore le projet médiatique et on donne le surnom de Petite école des médias à Édouard VII.61

I can take some comfort, at least, in knowing that I did not imagine my time at Edward VII – the school was real, and my memories of it, however nostalgic, are intact.
